Yes

Remains to be seen.

Has been offered a contract worth 20%ish of its current value, no news on if he will accept and I am unaware of what role, other than backup CB he will play.

That offer sounds fair enough given his age and the league he is playing in.

My guess would be no.

Maybe he'll join Bishop at Cambridge.

No. I'd guess he wants to play on and there's plenty of evidence he still can. Not good enough for us any more though. His leadership skills will need replacing - most important signing of the summer for cook.

More likely than not. Cook needs leaders and grafters and we've precious few of those
I'd imagine he'd likely not be a first choice player though, albeit always in and around the match day squad.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Been noticeably quiet lately, guess the job working with Dyer doesn’t appeal.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

I think a amicable split would be best.

I don't know if we can afford to let Owen Goal leave, either.

Hopefully not and I don't mean it in a personal way.

I think we need outright fresh change from top to bottom and he's included in that.

He's had so much influence in the dressing room over the years and Cook needs to bring in new leaders for the new era.

That sounds very reasonable. Would be nice for him to join a happy just-got-promoted squad. (I should say, I have no idea in what departments Cambridge will feel they need to strengthen,)

There's always one in ever thread like this that thinks it was Chambers who picked and coached the team, oversaw overall club strategy, etc isn't there?

Mick Mills said something regarding players come to the end of their careers. Often it takes a third party to say the party is finishing or is over......... Ad libbing a bit there.

But Cook hasn't publicly said there is a role for him here next season, but it ain't going to be in the first 11 if everyone is fit.

In fairness, with the expectations we put on this team after relegation, it's difficult to look at the captain and think 'we could be in league 2 now if it wasn't for him'.

Not saying his leadership skills are great by any stretch but he clearly has some. Can't see who else has any. Flynn downes taking the armband on occasion was surely a motivational tactic to get him going. Stephen ward is so poor he surely won't be here next year.

There's always one in every thread that posts exaggerated tripe like this. Chambers some say is a great leader, does great things behind the scenes, looks after young players, is kind to animals, helps old ladies cross the road, etc. A good captain is part of the leadership team, influences players on the pitch, stands up in the dressing room and inspires those he leads onto the pitch. Yes he can only try to lead the team that others pick but it's been 7 years, it's time for a change of voice.
