Someone on one of the threads about the youths said we need to start getting some the youths into the first team, that’s it’s been years and years since that happened.

I hope they have a look at that line up!!

Oh, and Norwood as captain? Hmmm , didn’t see that one coming.

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?

...on the bench behind an error prone loanee and the captaincy given to the banter king.

It doesn't sit particularly comfortably with me.

Maybe pc has already spoken with chambers and hes ok with not starting. Played a lot of football for his age. If hes not being kept. Then it takes away risk of injury. If he is staying PC already knows what hes about. No need to play him tbh either way.

Defence hasnt been our issue despite a mixture of defenders playing.

....anything in McGs contract to say he needs to play any more games this season.

I don't get it.

Weird then. Might as well stick Chambers in there. Nydam should be involved too IMO, at least on the bench.

Edwards can get in the bin, although we don’t have much choice with Lankester injured.

On balance I’m broadly ok with this, just sack off the loanees and replace them with youngsters for me.

Doesn't matter if he gets injured (with reference to the release of Judge).

To be honest I think we’re past the point of having to ask “Why play loanees? They won’t be here next year”. Most of the squad won’t be here next year, so loanee or contracted player makes no difference. And we couldn’t get a side together featuring 11 players who will be here next season.

It's ok though, if we don't score again Cook will come out and sh1t all over the players again and everyone will say "Well said Paul!".

It's one the thing to do this if LC is here as a squad player next year, needlessly petty otherwise.

Let’s be fair, this lot have had numerous chances to prove us all wrong and have come up woefully short even before PC’s time here. I’m glad he’s said what he has, but now is the time to move on, no need to keep going on over old ground.

Not sure what I think about Norwood having the captaincy!

I can't believe he's captain. It's actually quite annoyed me.

Considering the stories coming up about no training until yesterday and Cook saying decisions have already been made, I hope he doesn’t take another swing at the players after the match, whatever happens. He has bailed out and the players have nothing to play for so it will be awful anyway.

Well, Cook could also have said all he wants to say about five games ago. Fine if he doesn't want any of these players here next year - although not sure that reflects to well on him - but no real need to keep blaming them in every press conference unless he's just trying to shore his own position up.

I agree, the next 3 games can’t be over quickly enough, roll on next weekend! Really nonplussed about these remaining games. PC has said his bit about these players, move on now.

Unless it's an attempt to straighten him out a bit and give him a sense that he can be the main man here. I've seen nothing from Norwood to suggest he's the man for us and he seems to know it too. But he has the chance to make good on it next season at least.

That’s ward definitely released then 👍

Give Norwood a chance has the passion on the pitch if he stays injury free....

I wish he was passionate enough about his football to actually stop drinking, dicking about and start looking after his fitness.

We’re all speculating on here or going on hearsay, we don’t really know what’s going on, but the way this lot have performed for the last 3 seasons it’s about time someone said how it really is. However, I do agree that PC should now just say the minimum regarding comments about the players post match.

Norwood the most experienced player in that team and gives his all.

Only if you're counting his hundreds of Sunday league games. He's a bellend as well. Highlights what a state we are that a fat pub player with a terrible attitude has been given the armband.

Lol. Why you acting like it's a massive decision

Maybe he wants downes to concentrate in his own game? None if us know why
But tbh there isnt a captain in that lineup.

I think it's more about sharing it around to see who steps up to the plate rather than picking a captain now ahead of the new season with a big player influx; a test of character perhaps. A good Paul Cook decision for me.

Norwood.

Edit - and the vast majority of his goals have been in non-league, not the Football League. He's not scored anything like 150 goals in the Football League.
