It's a concern given that the next level down of targets will mainly be inferior players to those we are (rightly, in many cases) bombing. |
I think because of the last year and its impact on finances there may well be a lot of Championship-standard players on frees and not able to get clubs. I assume squad numbers will be being cut. Has been my concern though, us v a Championship club in a battle for a player, we're almost certainly going to lose out.

If we start recruiting from League Two and the conference now, I really will begin to worry but we should be able to sign the 15 best players in this league if we really wanted, although they probably wouldn't be any good long term as the gulf in quality between the 2nd and third tiers now is quite big. |  |

Can definitely imagine the players and agents of lots of these out-of-contract Champ players encouraging interest from Ipswich to get better deals in the Championship or from their current clubs.
