About 5/6 when I was first taken to games, but I remember being more interested in playing with my Matchbox toy cars than watching the games. The steps of the old stand before they built the Pioneer stand were a great play space ðŸ‘
5 years old in 1971 when I went to Portman Road for the first time. Count myself very lucky to have seen so many of the great games that followed for the next 11 years. Funnily enough, I found a box of about of 100 programmes from that period in the attic last week. I’d faithfully filed them in box files by season. Honestly don’t know what to do with them now.

First went to Portman Road in 1953 aged 5, but could see the ground from our house, and my Dad and big brother went to every home match, I guess you could say, I supported. The Town for as long as I can remember.

Admittedly, I grew up an Arsenal fan as my Dads a massive Gooner. That was until I was about 9/10, then my Auntie said enough was enough and started taking me down Portman Road and have been hooked ever since. Spent the next 4/5 years going with her most weeks, then got my first season ticket with my mates at 15 and not looked back these last 14 years (other than moving from North Upper to North Lower).
My dad and grandad were both Charlton fans and I was destined to head that way but dad took me to PR in March 1994 v QPR and I was sold, despite the result.

About the same, FA Cup and all that. Altho living at the wrong end of Suffolk, plus having school on Saturday mornings, then moving away and being skint and/or without transport, I didn't actually go to any games until I was in my thirties. It was my brother got me back into following town (and introduced me to TWTD).
First game at 5 as Snr couldn't trust me to sit still. But was pretty much indoctrinated from birth. At one stage he did my room out with wallpaper, curtains, bedsheets from the club shop the lot.
