Interesting that managers in work have already applied!
We have a great squad. A budget that is clearly competitive in 2nd/3rd tier and an infrastructure that's only going in one direction. Most employed managers would be mad not to throw their hat in the ring.

And with all due respect to MK Dons, Plymouth, Lincoln, Oxford etc, we have a far higher ceiling than those clubs.
I'm inclined to feel that the club have already got someone in mind (in work) and have sounded them out. This all seems to be groundwork to avoid any accusations of tapping up.

Mark Ashton makes me feel uneasy.
Not sure why, but I’m still not sold on him.
That’s because you’re used to the tea lady reading out a few lines that Marcus had WhatsApp’ed over. I think MA is doing a job that’s been vacant for a very long time.

You're only saying that because of everything the Bristol City fans said. Honestly, are we going to let Bristol f##king City fans screw this up for us?
Get a grip and support Ashton because he's a massive step up on Evans.
- A good tone, and pace, and energy - clear messaging - Ashton probably only made a point about him, when it shouldn't have been, twice - which is positive - it feels to me this was decision made on our performances (not just results), this point was made, think performances since Sunderland have been very poor... Rotherham we fell apart and looked devoid of belief, cup games awful, and despite rallying against Oxford we were played off the park for the first 20mins, and Crewe also looked better at times. I still maintain this had A LOT to do with player confidence - Clearly they see a play-off push as still being possible, and senior players buy-in to this - In parallel, if we can stay in touch they are going to spend again in January.. where you can see left back and centre back may be priorities - Big attempt to disconnect McGreal joining ahead of Cook sacking. and McGreal being SHOCKED... it was very noticeable how much emphasis on McGreal having A GOOD ASSISTANT there was, and assistant who Ashton's team know and can work with.. not convinced this was already lined up - An extensive search planned.. and I think Ashton knows this is going to take us through the Christmas period..don't think McGreal staying on if he gets results is an impossibility given the assistant link
I am expecting, NO DEMANDING, a BIG performance from the players on Tuesday, they have let Cook and the fans down since Wycombe, they know that, and they have two ex-Blues in McGreal and Dyer to tell then how FECKIN IMPORTANT Tuesday is and going on a run....
Cannot wait...for those going lets RAISE THE ROOF. and dust off the McGreal Tardis song...COYFB
