You were much funnier when you were a slightly dim and overwrought football hipster obsessed with 'technical' football who thought Lambert was a better manager than Mick. This new persona is just a lame Frimmers/Makin tribute act.

The thing about you BlueBadger is that you talk a good socialist and caring agenda, but when it comes down to it you’re just a little bit aggressive and unfriendly.

I’m making a perfectly valid point about TWTDer posters who think Ipswich have a divine right to exit a league where we are completely mired.

With the financial backing we had and the squad we built there's no way we should be out of promotion contention with three matches to go.

No one says it will be easy, but with our resources both on and off the pitch we have to be competing for an auto place at the least.

Hmmmmmmm

Man U with their resources both on and off the pitch should win the premier league and champions league… but they are MILES off

Sometimes success is quite a number of factors.

But to be clear my original point is that as a fan base and as a club we need to start being honest about how difficult a league this is going to be to exit. You Joe state that with our resources we should expect auto - but you know we’ve had these resources for a while, we’ve had our manager for 20 games… and yet we’re FECKIN 11th… ELEVENTH

Now I have every faith in McKenna, I think he knows the gaps in the squad, and he will resolve. But we’ll need both players and a mind set change.

Good news is that we have tomorrow night to show some of that fight. Let’s go and smash Wigan. Show what we have. As McKenna has demanded.

Not a great example - Manchester United's squad is nowhere near the quality of Manchester City's, Liverpool's or Chelsea's.

And we have not had these resources for a while; we've had them for just over a year and two transfer windows. I wouldn't be surprised if Gamechanger and McKenna took more of a 'powder dry' approach in January either.

But, man for man, we have a squad this season which is one of the best in division. The fact we've had three managers struggle to get the best out of them is disappointing. I doubt Gamechanger will accept too many seasons after the next one at this level.

Which conveniently overlooks what happens in reality.

If crowd size and supposed finance were the sole determinant, we would not have Sunderland and Weds down here with us. B'mouth would not be 2nd, while Forest and Derby are where they are.

They are so many other variables that have to be factored in - in our case a shyster who ran us into the ground. Sadly we may have landed ourselves with another 'short term Sidneys', who will bail out if it doesn't happen overnight.

I'm not making a prediction here, am I? I'm stating what constitutes success relative to the resources we have available.

I think in McKenna we have one of the best young managers in Europe

BUT… I’m not stupid enough to continue to talk about we have a divine right because of our investment to immediately leave this league

It’s a very hard league to exit

Wigan have found it (relatively) easy enough despite being in a relegation battle last year.
Wednesday are in a play off fight after relegation.
MK Dons have a rookie manager yet are contending for automatic promotion.
Rotherham are the ultimate yo yo team; they haven't found this league to be hard to exit. Admittedly staying in the Championship for them is something else.

Of course teams get bogged down but with the finances we have at our disposal? Should we really be accepting it's such a hard league that we can only pick up five points from our games against the four teams promoted from League Two?

ETA - four points, not five.

Gloss this anyway you want, blame anyone you want, this is for the blue tinted brigade, how much we've spent on wages, how many more mouths to feed on the top table,we've had a very poor season, everyone is to blame,

Actually Ashton and O’Leary are the ones to blame. They are the ones who over promised to the three pretend owners and Brinsley Schwarz. They are the two who gave Cook the thumbs up to dismember the squad and dispose of 5? Players who might all be playing in the championship next season To go so far backwards in the table at such expense and end the season with relegation favourites Cambridge United looming large in the rear view mirror wasn’t in the PowerPoint presentation.

I’m sure we can glibly expect McKenna to build ‘his team’ and all will be rosy - but I’m also sure Mr Schwarz has heard that baloney before and will keep his wallet in the safe next season From my experience beholden to American financial institutions when the plan and reality begin to diverge Ashton and O’Leary will be needing a copy of The Yellow Pages down their trousers when they are summoned to Ohio for the end of year review

We're 11th because we had Paul Cook as a manager coinciding with a fanbase who are obsessed with being patient and unambitious, irrespective of what they're watching in front of them.

We have to be the only club our size who has struggled this much in the 3rd division, it's embarrassing. At least other big clubs who have got mired here actually get in the top 6 more often than not, we've not come remotely close to that even once.

"No divine right" and all that but we're the complete outlier when it comes to competing in League 1.

If you're paying over the odds for worse performances then that's below par, every else is just special pleading.

I think it’s good for expectations next season that we’ve come down to earth in recent games.

It’s patently obvious that our talented attack and midfield has stuttered throughout the season. And we need a full team performance to beat teams. Contrast that with Sunderland who we outplayed 3 out of 4 halves yet they took 4 points to our measly 1.

I’m not sure exactly what the difference has been between us and the top teams. But I think we often seem to lack belief in the final third whereas opposition teams have kept theirs and even gained belief the longer we’ve failed to capitalise.

There’s no blame attached as we have talented individuals and I’m sure that McKenna has identified solutions (like Jackson leading the line, which nobody was asking for). McKenna has done a great job making us more defensively solid to cover the patchiness of our attacking performances. I look forward to him having a summer to get the attack firing. But getting that intangible belief/confidence clearly isn’t something we can just flick a switch to achieve.

We don't score enough goals. Need at least 2 x strikers in the summer that are upgrades on what we currently have.

I do think that this is partly a coaching issue as Piggot to be fair, got a load for struggling Wimbledon team (although he's looked amateur for us) and Bonne was firing them in early in the season. We perhaps have the wrong type of strikers for the system Mckenna is trying to play.

I'm a big fan of what Mckenna is trying to do, but they've fudged up some games and we should really have been challenging for playoffs at this stage.

Roll on the summer when we'll have some new faces, a pre season with a worked on system and hopefully strikers that suit what is being implemented on the pitch.

You finish where you deserve in football. Local press will always hype up teams and players coming in to generate interest and thus ad revenue, we are finishing where we are because that's how we have performed overall this season. It hasn't been good enough, it has been well below standard and I expect if McKenna can't do better next season he won't be here long either. Time will tell.
