There was one that was mainly military comic strips, think it was called Victor before I google it. |
I recall the Dan Dare one, maybe Eagle? Mekon and all that. Sure later on it mixed illustrations with photography which freaked me out as a kid. |  |

I remember seeing the Eagle comic , but never bought it. According to Wiki, apart from a short yuan in the 80s they stopped publishing in 1969.
I did read The Beezer sometimes. It was unusual as it was A3 sized.

I must’ve caught the 80s stint of it, as I used to get Tiger (and scorcher)… and then they merged it with Eagle towards the end if I remember correctly. I know Roy of the Rovers was a spin off out of Tiger. |  |

Perhaps you can ‘measure’ why Southampton is followed by normal humans, while with your club (official average gate last year was what, 15k? Real average numbers 150 million, obviously) a DNA test is required to tell the difference between the males and females.

What?! Roy of the Rovers was a spin off? That’s my tweenhood ruined. I’ve still got bags of ROTR from the late 70s through to mid-80s. I tried to get my boy interested, but they don’t compete with Fortnite.
But I have made some inroads with Subbuteo. I’ve (at last, nearly 40 years on!) built a base board with rails all around and cutouts for the goals. I need a new pitch though as the moths found my original one. I’ve the last ITFC orange away kit team, and a recent ish Swansea black/red one for the lad. So we’re good to go when I get a new pitch and spray glue it down. Need more spare keepers though - all my old ones have broken off the bases. |  |
