I think we've done really well on this deal. If we've got a decent fee in the order of £500k for a player who I'm far from convinced will make it at Championship level, and we've got a decent sell-on percentage as well, just in case, then I think it's a great bit of business. If it funds Ahadme as well, who looks pretty good from the bits of video I've seen, it's brilliant. |

That, for me, is one the dafter aspects of the whole affair. If the club didn't rate Simpson then fair enough, that's a subjective judgement and they might well turn out to be right.
But if that were the case I cannot for the life of me see the point in making him return to the squad in January. Leave him playing football somewhere and he has the opportunity to prove himself further and add to his value. Maybe he changes your mind about him, maybe he puts another few quid on his value, maybe he tails off and becomes more realistic about how much work he needs to do to get on in football. What upside were we hoping for after recalling him? |  |

I think it's a shame it has happened like this but don't think either side has done anything other than make a hard nosed business decision. ITFC have got a decent fee for someone that wouldn't have been playing first team football and Simpson has got himself a much better contract. Well the agent has done well for him money wise for the near future. As others have said, only time will tell. No-one will know how it could have turned out here.
Is he going to get infront of Rhodes and Ward? Only if he starts scoring. We will see.
