Boris Johnson's pitch 18:16 - Oct 20 with 6247 viewsGlasgowBlue

"OK folks. You know I'm a bit of a rogue and a rascal, and I got caught out partying when I shouldn't have been. But look, I got Brexit done and Covid beat and the pound in your pocket was never in danger whilst I was in charge".

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

If it went to the members he would walk it. But the MP'S surely won't put him back in No 10.

err, yes rather fcked up on that Covid stuff, should not have dismissed it as flue, skipped important meetings and then locked down a bit earlier

still whats a couple of hundred deaths, in fact we almost topped the European deaths league, helped solve the care worker problem, got rid of a fair number who used to need caring for..... survival of the fittest (fattist in my case) and all that

Brexit... err um, well not quite as I told you - those ruddy foreign johnnies have made the poor old UK stick to ............... errr, the deal I signed

still, few hundred thousand were able to vote for another party thanks to by elections and local elections... good bit of valuable experience, what with another GE coming up

and don't forget I helped a fair number of friends to earn a few bob (millions) selling us PPE, which unfortunately can not be used..... blame the Chinese for that

and what about all those fishermen, with the price of fuel they are thanking me they don't have to go out in their boats, just as the farmers who have saved a fortune in not ploughing fields, planting crops and I hear quite a number of poultry farms have moved abroad.... saved on heating there

just need to get that bally privileges committee thing out of the way, hope the investigation into Mr Putins generosity doesn't happen too soon............

...........all it needs is to ruffle the hair, pull out the shirt (I am a character after all) and I will be set to take charge again

If he was smart he'd move abroad with his ill-gotten gains and die fat on a pile of money. But he's an egotist beyond compare and a scumbag, so I suspect he'll be back thinking he's Churchill again.

Put him on trial along with the others and if he can beat the criminal justice system he can stand I say.

Regardless, you just know the Tories will never capitulate and give us the GE needed because they know they will be destroyed.

They won't put him back in No 10.
Why?
Because for some absolutely bizarre reason that some of the Tory MPs have grown a pair of balls/had an epiphany that the country rather than party matters more and have decided that adults should run the country.

Go figure.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

I think the opposition would think all their Xmases had come at once if the bloater were made PM

He could never command anything in Parliament but a small minority of his party, universally loathed by the country. It was only near the end that Truss overtook the bloater as the most unpopular.

Imagine having a PM installed then having him disqualified through his being suspended by the privileges committee

Perhaps the words of Mussolini in the days before his death might carry resonance

"Yes, madam, I am finished. My star has fallen. I have no fight left in me. I work and I try, yet know that all is but a farce... I await the end of the tragedy and–strangely detached from everything–I do not feel any more an actor. I feel I am the last of spectators."

The time the bloater was any of use to the Tory Party has long since gone, as he will be... perhaps Putin will send a plane to rescue him, stranger things have happened

If Boris Johnson had a 'pitch', you just know that the goalposts would be different sizes deliberately, and he'd somehow try to fix it that he was shooting towards the bigger ones each half. Although he'd still be liable to scoring own goals so would ultimately still lose...

What sums up Boris is that he rushing back from holiday in the Caribbean to make an attempt on this, WTAF is he doing on holiday as an MP when parliament is ongoing. The guy is a complete shyster, part of me hopes he wins to get an absolute trouncing at the polls…

He has been away from Parliament since it opened up again at the beginning of September

This is another area that should be looked at.

PR would not solve this, or crooks like Paterson.

Utter contempt for his job.

He's a disgrace and still under investigation for lying to the house.

If they went with him I think it would alienate a large section of the population for a long time. Some would obviously love it, but it would be a shambles for our country, possibly even worse than appointing Liz Truss.

Every MP I hear who supports him literally says "he can help me win our seat", not a single one says he is good for the country. Most are still peddling the lie that we had the best vaccine programme which after the first few months simply wasn't true. Everything around Boris promotes the use of falsehoods and lies, it's Trumpian.

On the BBC now:

"60 MPs and PSPs resigned under his leadership, could he form a government".

"That was then, this is now, I need to win my seat".

He then goes on to say Boris can unite all factions of the party whilst a number of MPs have said they will resign the whip if he's back as PM.

Cognitive dissonance all over the place.

The obsession with finding a candidate who has the best chance of winning an election rather than who can do the best fir the country is quite sickening.

It’s why we got Johnson in the first place though. They knew he’d be a disaster for the country but they saw him as the best chance of getting a majority.

I don’t want to hear any of the candidates or their supporters talking about who can win the next election. I want to hear them talk about how they will fix the mess created by Truss in her short time in power.

Unfortunately that's a lovely dream but I suspect from a large portion of MPs we will be hearing about who can win the next election.

Especially after todays polls, Tories only 3% ahead of Lib Dems:
