I feel sometimes I’m watching different games and am connected to a differentâ 17:28 - Feb 11 with 11450 viewsunstableblue

…. Club and project!

First off that was one of the most exciting games of football and atmosphere than I can remember

Second having gone with Sheff Weds fans they were adamant that first half was the best they’ve played for seasons, and second half they were completely blown away by us

They were physically ballistic in the first half and to come back from 2-0 down with them so dominant at that point is remarkable

Look some players like Davis, Wolf, Humphreys and Clarke struggled in that first half - but these are young prospects are only going to get better and better… and I’m frickin excited to watch that

That second half blitz from Town was wonderful… AND we also could have easily buckled under a series of set plays

Yes of course we wanted a win… but this season is not over… and I’m excited to watch this team progress and watch our manager strengthen his experience

If you don't enjoy football, there's little point in going...

To respond to your other point; Bournemouth and Brentford play in the Premier League. A few years back, you'd have said the same about being in their division.
This is a tough league to get out of - nobody has a divine right. Not least of all a club in the process of being restructured with a rookie manager finding his way.

Take a look at the very long list of teams who have been in L1 since 2004, it's no easy ride for anybody:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EFL_League_One#Historic_performance

Quite a few clubs have made very short work of L1: Blackburn, Leicester, Norwich, Wolves. Hull.

Yeah, it was. I was there and the atmosphere was incredible. A proper roller coaster of a game.

blimey, i prefered it when i was at PR watching us a win against inter milan, now that was pulsating.

Was it a different result for those that were?

No, but it was a pulsating draw against the best team in the league.

really?

Yep. A cracking 2nd half in a rocking stadium.
Enjoyed it immensely.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Just disturbing what we're having to class as pulsating, a 2-2 draw at home in league 1.

How many of those changed ownership, had three managers and completely rebuilt their squad in the period they were making short work of L1? We're in a very different position.

That seems to me to be a circular argument. I mean if Leicester and co. hadn't made short work of it maybe they'd have gone through three managers and rebuilt their squads too.

Look it up in a dictionary. Pulsating is used in relation to the content not context of the game.

If the naysayers are unhappy that the team they support is not competing at the top end of the football pyramid then join the club!

If however wanting to progress & spending my cash & time supporting the team & trying to be positive makes me a happy clapper then I will gladly reclaim that moniker!

Check your privilege! We have had many years of under investment.

....banging on about to be honest.

My post is a comment on the fact that we have a number of deficiencies but they are not even acknowledged by a section of our fans, a section that will seek to overplay the positives rather than offer a realistic view.

Not sure what bedsheet or protests have got to do with it.

All the best,

"Big Man".

"we have a number of deficiencies but they are not even acknowledged by a section of our fans, a section that will seek to overplay the positives rather than offer a realistic view."

Can you link some examples please, because I've not seen any posts suggesting that.

Offering a perspective about the season as a whole, rather than having a go at KM & the team for not getting all 3 points today, despite scoring two goals, against the side in 2nd who had won their previous 6 league games & not conceded a single goal in their previous 5 league games going back to Boxing Day, is absolutely realistic. Expecting all 3 points, as you appear to have been, was not, imho.

Had this group not been so lacklustre against multiple other teams in the last 3 months we’d not be having this conversation today.

However, to gain promotion, in automatics as everyone’s goal was this season, you expect that a win against our main rivals would have been something we’d have hoped for.

As it stands that’s 3 draws and a loss to Plymouth and Weds.

We still have to face Barnsley Derby and Bolton, and I have very little faith in this squad to achieve a win in any of these. And ultimately they look to be who we’ll flip into the playoffs with.

4 wins in 13 is an extremely poor run of form for a team hoping for the top 2.

....realism about our deficiencies, at best they are merely glossed over.

People who exaggerate any positives to the Nth degree leading to a totally false impression of our abilities and position.

People who accept mediocrity.

People who appear to be scared of adopting a winning mentality.

People who, indirectly maybe, add to the pathetic soft underbelly of our club.

People who applaud the team to relegation.

....."Happy Clappers"

Thank you for responding to my question.

So according to you 58 people who either post on this board or read it are happy clappers and ‘wet wipes’ for not hammering a comeback from 2-0 down in a competitive game against one of the two best teams in the division. Oh well.

Yet found themselves 2 up with 2 chances.

If we fail to go up these 58 people will be happy to give McKenna another season and another transfer windows.

Less than two months ago we were top of the league now auto promotion looks remote.

I would definitely be giving him another transfer window and season. You have to give a manager who is in his first full season another shot if we don’t go up surely.
