I feel sometimes I’m watching different games and am connected to a differentâ 17:28 - Feb 11 with 11447 viewsunstableblue

…. Club and project!

First off that was one of the most exciting games of football and atmosphere than I can remember

Second having gone with Sheff Weds fans they were adamant that first half was the best they’ve played for seasons, and second half they were completely blown away by us

They were physically ballistic in the first half and to come back from 2-0 down with them so dominant at that point is remarkable

Look some players like Davis, Wolf, Humphreys and Clarke struggled in that first half - but these are young prospects are only going to get better and better… and I’m frickin excited to watch that

That second half blitz from Town was wonderful… AND we also could have easily buckled under a series of set plays

Yes of course we wanted a win… but this season is not over… and I’m excited to watch this team progress and watch our manager strengthen his experience

Was that from open play or was it from the second phase of a corner? Cant actually remember. Even so, was straight at the keeper and we weren’t really battering the door down. Of course neither were they but a point is a good result for them.

Thoroughly enjoyed that and even got to hug a random in The Cobbold stand....now how often does that happen.

I have to disgree

Yes it was a cracking game, atmosphere and fightback. Had we been 2 up and then only drew I think there would not be the sense of achievement there was at the end

However, this not teEvans era. We have new owners and were led to believe that we would pee the league. First season we didn't but lets have another go. However it matters little if we are overhauled by those around us who are steadily gaining on us. As if it is a play off place then it matters little if we finish 3rd or 6th. Automatic place is job done. Playoffs means we have 25% chance of success. whereas the though in summer 2021 was by now we would now be battling for promotion out of the Championship.

We are not the 'plucky little underdogs' of the Evans era either. Money has been spent on and off the pitch. And I doubt those the otherside of the pond expected us to be where we are this far into the second season. 8 points out of the previous 21 does not suggest we a ripping up the league.

Yes, much can happen in the final games. And much will. But McK was not brought in to learn the trade, and players were not brought in to sevelop either - though that does not preclude either happening,/ They were brought in/signed to get us into the Championship (and more).

As it stands that is not looking likely to happen (note the words 'as it stands') via an automatic place.

Perhaps the hype was a bit roo loud, our expectation a little too unrealistice, but as the thought of another season in L1 moves from 'not being on the cards' to a feint bit of doubt in supporters minds there will come the thought of how those across the pond will respond, if that doubt does harden into reality.

“were led to believe that we would pee the league”.

As you’d like to say Harry, you’d have to be a right thicky to believe that. Money helps of course, but it doesn’t guarantee anything.

That game could be a real turning point for this team. In a good way. It's the mirror image of what has been happening and the mirror image of when the season started to be problematic for us. I think they'll take a lot from that.

....realism about our deficiencies, at best they are merely glossed over.

People who exaggerate any positives to the Nth degree leading to a totally false impression of our abilities and position.

People who accept mediocrity.

People who appear to be scared of adopting a winning mentality.

People who, indirectly maybe, add to the pathetic soft underbelly of our club.

People who applaud the team to relegation.

....."Happy Clappers"

ive seen us relegated at least five times.
not once have i been happy about it.
but i don't f@@cking play on the pitch, so there is'nt a lot i can do about it really, is there?

Deranged. The team is failing once again before your very eyes and you’re excited. And 34 upvotes. I don’t understand Ipswich fans anymore.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Just got home so not read much.

Yes we had to win really but we did well to come back, we play the best football in the league, I'm excited about watching the team again.

Yes we might fall a bit short this season but we should make the playoffs and who knows what happens.

Obviously a bit disappointed that we had 40 mins to get another goal when clearly they were rocking bit we seemed to run out of steam.

I'm not giving up yet.

Ignoring that you shouldn't even still be posting on here...

If it wasn't for the first 7 games we would be outside the top 6. What positive trajectory do you see?

The atmosphere at PR was the best I've felt for 20 years.

The place was electric.

And eventually we silenced the incredible noise created by the Wednesday fans.

The boys had the wind knocked out of their sales after the penalty miss and then 2 quick fire goals. To be fair that would have downed most teams but we looked like an itfc tribute act until Broadhead scored.

In the second half only one team were going to score.

I thought Hirst showed some great control and touches. He ran his socks off.
Clarke and Burns struggled with their communication but it will.come.

A good point and a fair result

At last, a voice of reason.
Exactly as I saw it. We were pants for 40 minutes but Weds were very good. We turned the tables on them and they were making the mistakes in the second half. It was excellent fare and heart stopping at both ends in the last 10.
My 15 year old daughter was at her first game and wants to go again - that's a win for me!

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Sounds good and I wish I could have been there. It’s not often we get a decent noise out of FPR so it’s a shame to miss it. Hopefully that’ll be the first of many for your daughter 👍

It was absolutely rocking at about 50-55mins… the Weds fans were very good first half

Whilst I agree Burns and Clarke were not gelling that we’ll, and Clarke had errors.. I’m very excited by Clarke… he’s got real ability

‘That second half blitz from Town was wonderful… ‘

Yet the only proper chance we had (and scored from) was a deflected dead ball.

In a must win game, this all seems very desperate to find positives

Apart from chappers putting a free header straight at the keeper, and Ladapo shooting just wide in injury time.
