We have absolutely fcked this haven’t we 19:40 - Feb 11 with 44864 viewstextbackup

Even a draw after pissing about going 2-0 down isn’t good enough.

We were fcking top, points clear.

This is an absolute shtshow, we’ll probably nick a 5th 6th place finish due to the sheer amount of sht we have left to play… but I don’t see us getting anything from barnsley Bolton or Derby, might nick a point or two if we are lucky, which really then gives nobody any hope that the playoffs will result in anything but 82726 passes then concede from the only shot or two we have against us.

The comments on "poor form" were actually related to giving away a 15 point lead to 5 or 6 teams in a chasing pack below us and the same amount to Sheffield Wednesday who leap frogged us in the table, to a position of being 7 or 8 points ahead, with games in hand on us, not to one specific game at all.

If that's not a poor run, compared to half the rest of the league who gained on us, I really don't know what is, the views expressed on that run of form were valid at the time, as I've said previously. Fortunately, Wednesday imploded and even with a record breaking run of results by our team, we still only narrowly made our way into automatics and were still sh1tting the bed about points with just 3 games to go in the season.

That's still a strangely negative take from someone who says they're a Town supporter, highlighted by your saying "fortunately, Wednesday imploded".

All that happened was that we had our blip/wobble a few months earlier than SW did. That's football.

Tiresome when people drag these threads out, everyone, and I mean everyone was feeling desolate at that time, and anyone saying otherwise is lying.

Even certain podcasters were calling for his head and wanting him replaced with Allardyce.

Can we have it noted on record that it wasn't the Blue Monday podcast calling for this, and for him to be replaced by Danny Cowley or Karl Robinson.

Yes and I always have done.

We've got a really deep squad and over the next 10 weeks is when that comes into play.

Yes we drew a bunch of "ought to win" games but we kept picking up points and what's more it didn't dent our goal difference.

Today was a great result. COYB

Think this is getting out of hand, I was merely pointing out that we were despondent at that point, but still had huge faith in this manager and squad.

I'm just pointing out how silly it is to drag up old threads from a period where emotions were high.

Now people are trying to re-write history by making it a binary argument between McKenna in or out. Which it totally isn't.

For the record, I think even when results weren't going as expected everyone had hope and nearly everyone had faith in KMc despite the emotions at the time which for genuine fans always run high - even if they are not always hugely positive.

No dragging up the past and certainly no divisiveness from me. I was just having a little gloat at my slightly fortuitous, rose-tinted, confidence-boosting predictions.

Eh? Did you mean to reply to me.

Your last two lines dont make any sense if aiming that at me. I’ve not even said anyone was McKenna out let alone it being two sides of an argument. Just that we have plenty of fans that were surprisingly negative (in my personal view) to a handful of disappointing results.

Every side, even title winning premier league sides have a run of disappointing results at some stage. It was a massive overreaction. i meant some of had faith it McKenna to tune it around this season where as some didn’t have faith in him to get promotion this season or without lottery of playoffs.

Then by accepting that it's open during the whole season. You should really accept that people will air views based on what's happening at that specific time.

If the requirement is just be patient... then what's the point of it in-between summers..

I don't mind the airing of views. But if you air a million of them, and they're all hot takes, then some will come back to bite you on the bum.

I don't get this 'there should be no comeback on daft views' narrative. The extension of that leads to fake news being accepted as truth.

I mostly read TWTD rather than post but I stopped reading here during the tough period around the Bristol game.

What made me more angry and disappointed than the results was the fact a few of our fans couldn't look beyond the short term issues and look at the bigger picture and the improvement of basically everything to do with the club since McKenna took over and were prepared to have us lose our best manager in 20 yrs on the back of a hissy fit.

I initially put that down to impatience of the modern world but then realised had the internet been around in the early 1970's there would have been several Robson out threads on here.

Promotion this year was important, getting back to the 2nd tier should at least put some goodwill in the bank for when we have tough spells next season.

It's the needless bumping of threads and having a pop with no consideration given to context which is annoying. Not to mention many people claiming they were never in doubt are talking utter sh1te.

One or two are acting like they can just post what they want and because "it was my views at the time" there should be no comeback. I disagree. If you post sh1te and it's seen at the time to be sh1te, then in the fullness of time is proven to be sh1te, then yeah, I see no problem with people reminding them of it. These people need to learn from it! If you don't post sh1te, you have a bit of patience, then you won't get called out on it later.

And I think context has been considered. Many of us were saying it was a blip, it wasn't 'horrendous' form etc. at the time. And things like Burns just being a "whackaball" player - no amount of context makes that right.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I don't disagree. Threads like this though, posted 2 hours after a frustrating game where anyone honest must have thought it looked a massive task to get top two? A passionate fan letting off some steam.

Not the same as someone posting nonsense all season.

Again your using the word patience again.

If the requirement was to be patient.. again no need for a forum through the season.

This isn't about views and having views countered. This is people like you bringing up 4 month old posts made when the team had dropped alot of points and people making comments at that time based on what was happening at that time. You rightfully had shared your alternative view at that same time period which is the way these forums works and how it should be.

But today your saying people should learn to be patient. Not they don't need to learn anything. This is place to vent frustrations and share joy when things happen.

Also. Again that player tag has been used by posters more than the originator of said tag. And as stated earlier. I'm glad he performed better which is what I wanted from him and the other key players.
