If anybody fancies a go at a non-football quiz, I have put this one together. There are seven minutes to try and name all the places in Suffolk which are considered to be towns. Two of them gained town councils in the last 25 years (specifically January 2000 and August 2011) and so are included in the list, and a couple of historic towns are shown but greyed out. There are one or two places that may be larger in population than some on the list but they are not towns. Full names are required and there are three towns with names that contain more than one word.

I thought Carlton Colville was just a suburb of Lowestoft. You learn something new every day. I also thought Clare was a village.
No surprises really in that the top 7 or 8 answers. Newmarket at 57% may have been higher but maybe there are lots of people who think of it as being in Cambs. [Post edited 22 Feb 2023 19:31]

Slightly disappointing 17, but 2 obvious ones I missed that i probably would have got if not using my phone which is a nightmare so I got all coffuffled .. the horsey one and the w one ... I was surprised how few get the other speedway town in Suffolk, I also noticed how many towns on our northern border theirs and ours that I wasn’t sure which side they sat in embarrassingly [Post edited 22 Feb 2023 23:43]

I got 20, I had a feeling one of those suburbs would be one but I couldn't pull this out of my memory
The same for Halesworth I knew I was missing another H and was trying to visualise the station but the name wouldn't come out

Thank you for all your attempts at this quiz. Unsurprisingly, one particular place listed has been guessed much less than the other 24 towns. In fact, I wouldn't have known it was a town until I put the quiz together. And, as it really ought to be, the place beginning with 'I' is the most-guessed. | |
