What a load of twaddle, fair play to him for sticking to his guns, can imagine he disagreed with them when they told him to probably delete the tweet and not to comment in the future.

Quite the opposite old chap. I feel this is the moment that scales will start to fall from certain peoples eyes at what this state is doing to the country.

I hope so.

All credit to Gary Lineker, Ian Wright and Alan Shearer. England heros.

...I expect that MOTD on Saturday will now simply be a highlights show with no presenters talking load of irrelevant guff.

Long may it continue.

Yes, it is great to see the solidarity between presenters making a stand against Fascism.

Maximum respect to Wrighty.

Shearer has done the same, Alex Scott seems to have hinted she will also pull out.

We'll have Richard Keyes and Ron Atkinson at this rate.

Massive miscalculation from the beeb this.

Whoever presents it, even if they dislike GL and have no sympathy for him, will be seen as a massive prick by a lot of people.

I expect a massive u-turn from the BBC may well be what’ll happen.

Not sure how this is classed as a "football" post. It isn't - can thus be moved please. Very bored by this and don't want to see it in the football section.

It is headline news on (rival sports broadcaster) Sky Sports News too.

Funny how politics has a tendency to impact on sport, really. Almost like politics does matter.

Even Piers Morgan has defended him.

When the BBC has Nigel Farage standing shoulder to shoulder with it there needs to be questions

If they don't u-turn, at this rate they'll either have to pull the prog or just put it on as a series of captioned clips - which would look like a Monty Pythons Flying Circus episode. They could call it 'Mess-up of the Day', or 'Own Goal of the Season'.

....with extended highlights of each game and no dullards in the studio getting paid hundreds of thousands of pounds to state the bleedin obvious sounds great to me.

Everyone moans about the "experts" constantly anyway, and yet now we appear to not be able to live without them.

People are idiots.

Big Ted and Little Ted won’t take part and I think it’s hurtful to suggest they might. I think you should give your head a wobble.

The Dalek? Not so sure. They might rope in a Cyberman mate too, I suppose.

The question is, how the heck do Daleks get up the stairs?

Well this has blown up. Mrs Swanners just mentioned it to me, so obviously I came on here for the news.

What a humungous clusterfu*k the BBC have made of this. They could have released a statement saying something along the lines of ‘we are aware of Linekers’s comments, and whilst we don’t condone them because we are an impartial broadcaster our presenters are free to express their own views in their own time’. Job done.

They haven’t, because one can only assume this is political and the screws have been applied from the top (their Tory backgrounded and still connected top).

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?
