Bloody international call ups! 20:35 - Mar 13 with 11758 viewsArnieM

That’s the last thing we need. Causing us to call games off will break our momentum, and probably end out winning run. I doubt Plymouth will have this problem . Absolute cock up if this happens in my humble opinion.

imho, you are over-reacting.

We could end up playing Barnsley when they have nothing to play for.

They’ve literally got a break in the league in a few weeks!

On the flipside (and this is a huge ask), we could be promoted at the final whistle of Barnsley away...

Cock up? Plymouth don't have that issue because they have less international quality players, should we aspire to that?

Be more annoying if we only have two players called up on international duty. Wouldn't want to play Barnsley without say Davis & Broadhead.

Time to bung the Egyptian FA a few quid to make sure Morsy is called up...

Sorry didn't mean to downvote

But we don't have to postpone its our choice if 3 or players are called up

JEEZ MY optimism has returned

Amazing what 5 wins can do
We are going to do it

I know Davis is good but doubt he will be on Southgate’s radar just yet…!

How is it a cock-up?

International weekends have been like this for years.

People are only moaning now they’ve finally realised it’s potentially going to affect us.

It would be deeply irresponsible to go into a game against Barnsley with 2 or 3 of Burns, Morsy and Broadhead missing.

When are Barnsley ( of all the top six) likely to have “nothing to play for”?

Town allowing key players to be realised to go off on international duty ( friendlies?) which means our league fixtures are halted , breaking our rhythm and most likely our rich firm of wins.

We have no say, we don't "allow" anything. Of we didn't release them FIFA would make them unavailable for our fixtures.

I think the break might suit us

Good Job Mr McKenna is very level headed and not allow the emotion of the situation to get the better of us.
A little break right now could give us a chance to top up the batteries for the final push.

We can't stop players being called up for international duty and we have to release them if they are. If you're going to get worked up about something at least make an effort to understand it first.

I think it suits us,too... Barnsley already have to squeeze in their games in hand. Could be that they pick up an injury or two, or certainly some fatigue during April. And let's not forget. They are in excellent form atm, too.So it might not be the best time to play them, especially at Oakwell, atm..
Add to that, the rest time and prep/planning time that KM and the squad gets on international week. There are plenty of pluses imo..
Personally don't think Morsy will get called up, he's been in few pre-squads and not got the nod. But I do think a rest week would do him good, if Burns , Broadhead and Leigh get the call and we get a game called off..
It would also give some of our other players coming back from injury, Ball, Camara, TJJ an extra few days. Which isn't a bad thing, imo..
I know some managers prefer to fly straight into the next match. But I get the impression, with KM and his approach and attention to detail, that he won't mind a few more days on the training pitch, should we get that break.

Imagine if we could say no...

Sorry Wes, we know you only just missed out on going to a world cup but now you've been called up again and have a real chance to cement your place in the next era of the Welsh squad we're not going to release you.

Genius.

Don't think we'll need him to be called up, expectation is Broadhead and Burns for Wales and Leigh for Jamaica.
