Just Stop Oil have bugg3red the snooker up.... on 20:53 - Apr 17 by J2BLUE
Surely you must see why the audience is annoyed? Hardly surprising they gave him a bit of abuse.
And yes, the climate situation is an emergency. Not denying that.
If we end up in the play offs, it's 0-0 in the last minute of ET at Wembley and Chappers has just gone around the keeper, kicks it towards goal and it's cleared off the line by a protester it's good to know so many on here will calmly sit back and take it in their stride.
I think it's a bit silly not to think they are justified in being a bit annoyed and venting a bit in the moment.
I think we would all calmly say it's OK, Broadhead will only set him up for another once the match gets going again.
And the most annoyed will be the Wednesday fans when Darren Moore tells his team to allow us to score out of fair play.

Yes, utterly ruined at 11-0 in the first frame of a best-of-thirteen match.
We can't possibly condone such behaviour when Rommers has £200 riding on the outcome.
Ok what about the audience even? The fans who’ve paid for tickets and looked forward to seeing a world championship match all year? Who will now see precisely zero shots and be refunded instead? Is that better for you?
It’s funny how nobody cares about the stuff affected unless it’s something they care about.
I wonder what is the limit tbh. You all seem ok no matter what is done. Ruin a major sporting event? No problem. Block cars in on the roads resulting in people missing out on seeing dying relatives for the last time? No problem. What next? If someone turned up to your relatives funeral and sh*t in the coffin, would that be ok if it was in protest?
I’m out. As usual.. TWTD doesn’t care about the event being ruined

I'm definitely changing in my old age, felt a bit of admiration for those protestors at the Grand National, and again today. I certainly wouldn't have in my younger days.
Of course I have little interest in either spectacle, I suspect if they targetted a Town match, say the play off final (which ofc we won't need) then I may see it in a different light.
I guess I'm a hypocrite.
The difference is at least you’re acknowledging it’s hypocritical. I respect that.

You’re bound to have heard of the impacts of climate change and the environmental, social and economic costs. If you think a game of snooker is more important, then fine it’s your right. I don’t.
I don’t think a game of snooker is more important than climate change. The thing is though interrupting a game of snooker does nothing to increase my knowledge or awareness of climate change. All it does is irritate me that some numpty thinks it is appropriate to protest by disrupting the event instead of simply arguing the point and convincing the general public. If the indivual is unable to convince with logic is it acceptable that he/she can resort to force.
What will the reaction be if tomorrows match is disrupted and for some reason we lose !!!

Based on what?
What people post.
And no i'm not going to name names. I've pointed things out in the past and it goes down like a lead balloon so with things as good as they are on the pitch I will refrain,

Their aims are to get the issues talked about (which they are clearly achieving) and to cause sufficient disruption that people decide they have to pressure Government to take action. Their argument is to do nothing is so serious they are prepared to do pretty much anything to get something done.
I wouldn't go so far as to say I support what they are doing but I can see why they are. You could very easily compare them to the Suffragettes who history looks on very favourably for good reason. I think they too got a similar reaction at the time.

A lot of people don’t need reaching, true enough. And then there will be some who can’t be reached as they’ve settled on an anti- position. Some can still be reached though. This may not be the best way in fairness, but there’s so few people trying to raise this issue it feels churlish to knock them. Doing so feels to me like giving up and aligning with the deniers and fossil fuel lobby.
More people do need to wake up and I don’t know what the answer is. Even David Attenborough isn’t cutting through enough with his recent series, so I’m not convinced there’s a non-disruptive solution.

Fair enough, no point antagonising anyone unnecessarily ðŸ‘

Bit of a non-starter of an argument as they wouldn't protest at a private funeral.
It's human nature to be more ambivalent towards things you have less interest in, and vice versa easier to get more passionate about something that means more personally. Given that, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with that attitude really - you can't expect to force people to care more or less about something by trying to 'gotcha' them as hypocrites or whatever.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Yup. I can't take a binary standpoint on this. I can see why they're annoyed. If someone cleared a Chappers winner off the goal line I'd be feeling (momentarily) insane and wish to strike down upon them with great vengeance and fuuuurious anger, etc.
At the same time the protesters are aware and carrying the pain and fear that, frankly, we should all be carrying, and not hiding away from. I can't be angry with them.

Doesn’t it come down to me not seeing things the same as you and therefore you resorting to force to persuade me of the error of my ways.
Now - I know I’m right so what happens if I take up a gun and persuade you of the error of your ways.
That is the logical outcome as we can see from events in the USA.

Doesn't everything?
For the majority, we stick with discussion, persuasion and the ballot box. For some it might go further. For a terrorist a violent response is seen as justified. One man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter.
At root, we should ask ourselves whether anyone has a good foundation for their opposing view. Discussion and compromise are often the best way despite the popular soundbite "we never negotiate with terrorists" (which I also understand the logic of as being seen to achieve its aims could be seen as justification for it).

Hope someone kicks the sh*t out of him on the way out. Scum.
Wtf has snooker got to do with it? Biggest game of their lives and it’s been ruined now. New cloth will play totally different and that’s even on the unlikely chance of them playing again tonight. Scumbags ought to be in prison.
Would you like me to pick your toys up so you can throw them out of your pram again?
It's a good cause to protest about and nobody got hurt.

Which I have to say I’m finding very funny because whilst listening to professional “All about me” James o Brien this morning he was saying how much he is loving watching the snooker.
I look forward to listening him in the morn.
I’m looking forward to it too. I’m not sure how I feel about this situation so can’t wait for James O’Brien to clear things up for me.
