Having read through replies to my previous post I was quite upset at some of the responses and would like to point out that on this platform we should have the right to voice our opinions about players connected to the club. When it comes to piggot I have been watching him for years and was always very impressed with him and was delighted when we signed him. We never gave him a run of games or a chance to prove himself. As I say I can see him linking up with other members of the squad both on the pitch and socially in a bar maybe on the waterfront and if he does that he will feel more of a part of the team and that will bode well for him, it is a shame to let him go before he had the chance to do that this summer I for one hope he hangs about |  | | |  |

He’ll be gone. Why would we keep him? He wasn’t part of McKenna’s plans in League 1, so certainly won’t be in a higher league. That’s just the way it is. Nothing personal, but he won’t be the last to not be what we were looking for. |  |

Don't think it's a case of people hating Joe Piggot. Think it's just a case of him not really being at the standard required. Same as Norwood and same as Bonne.
KM had enough games to look at all of them 2nd half of last season. And made it pretty obvious that none of them were going to be featuring for him.
I don't think JP had a serious run in the side and I'll also cut him some slack, being as he lost his father, around Nov-Dec last season. I was one that was hoping hed find some form, just so we could see the real Joe Piggot. But for some reason, he never did that here..Maybe playing in front of a few thousand at Dons, and then playing in front of 25k here, was too much for him? Same as Fraser?. Not sure there's scope to be particularly brutal with the retained list as there's not that many out of contract and you can pretty much be certain the likes of Sone, Keogh and Kane Vincent-Young will be moving on. That's first-teamers, most of the U21s were told they could go a couple of months ago, just waiting for comfirmation of the names.
It wouldn't surprise me if there were one or two departures which weren't expected over the summer as we step up, though.

Exactly. Retained list will be pretty obvious but we'll have to ship quite a few out who aren't out of contract. Will be sad to see some go but we'll have to accept it e.g. if Edwards goes will be gutted to see that potential go but he just hasn't maybe got the all round game off the ball. | |

I suspect the list of "definitely here unless we get stupid money" is relatively short - Walton, Clarke, Woolf, Davis, Morsy, Chaplin, Broadhead and probably Burns.
Otherwise I suspect there will be some player trading. Not a full squad turnover but maybe 30-40% of the players who we would be happy as squad players moving on for someone new? | | | |
