So, Club badge in the middle…. 10:13 - Jun 17 with 9726 viewsBloots

….of the shirt.

How do we feel about this?

Personally I’m not for it, but I’m an old traditionalist.

Maybe it appeals to the kids.

Shields should always be on the left.

They are positioned there to protect your heart from the likes of swords, spears, arrows and other sharp instruments designed to kill.

Plastic beer jugs and spent vape cylinders too.

Your heart is actually more central than most people think it is.

I’m here for this type of history education of the masses.

I didn't know a small part of it is in the right half of the body until recently.

Appreciate I might get some pelters for this but I think it can look nice if done properly. All depends on the shirt design that surrounds it. Have to admit though that our badge maybe isn’t the most suited to a central position. I’ll hold judgement ‘til the kit is released.

It would look quality if Umbro had their logo on the arms. If not it’s unbalanced.

Anyway just because somebody has guessed this and added no context it doesn’t mean it’s happening.

It's hardly a random guess, would suggest it's a realistic option at least.

Based on something like the Tempest in blue/white and yellow and blue would be quite smart. Can see something like the Vier in the same colours being more popular.

Whatever it is, it seems that non-British fans like central badges whenever it's discussed on twitter. No idea why.

I don't think ours is the right shape especially, the point and the bottom works on a centreline I guess.

The club changes its home kit every season. One season have a more traditional home shirt and the next have a more futuristic design.

It doesn’t really matter does it.

Yes it does, particularly in terms of sales.

Blimey, I know we've just been promoted, but who are you expecting to use these tactics against us next season? Colin?

Agreed. I’m surprised by the negative reaction on here, and the strength of that feeling. The 97-99 kit was one of our best ever and that has a centralised badge. Although it’s relatively unusual this isn’t some new-fangled thing!

Shirt-wearing has come a long way since then, even people like me are wearing them as casual summer wear now, they have to be really attractive & well-designed, not just clunky items that are only worn to games.

Agree with you on that - I just don’t think a centralised badge is necessarily clunky! Do you think the 97-99 one is?

Germany also had a nice one with a centralised badge recently. They do have the advantage of not having a sponsor though.

True, although we don't know what Ed's sponsorship logo will look like yet...

I just hate the white sleeves tbh, but can't deny they are part of the clubs history tho.

Having a kit every season is a joke imo, and a double edged sword since we can't keep such a classic kit as this last season but at least means if we have a shocker of a kit it can't linger like a bad smell for more than a season.

I don't mind it - and when you change 3 kits every season you need to do some things to keep them a bit different!
