Luke Matherson also has to be in with a shout?

I would agree with those who have stated O'Dea to be tbe worst player to pull on a Town shirt.

Best
Ebanks Blake
Ellington

All awful

Who was the striker we signed on loan from perterborough?

I was going to say Rory Fallon, but think he was Plymouth?

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

You are probably right. Over egged it. Particularly against some of the other candidates I and others have put forward. I shall correct - Douglas was actually the player that depressed me more than any other (wasn’t at the Mark Fish game but in any case like Polish Pete, his attendance on the field was limited!)

He really did get to me. Even in his first season I couldn’t see why he was there. Every time his name was on the team sheet I thought ‘oh no, we’re down to 10 men again’.

But I never booed him. Just sat there in stony disbelief praying. I don’t hold with booing our players or hurling abuse at them. The opposition - a different story!

This what you say about Douglas used to be my feeling about Skuse. Why is Douglas being singled out by so many whereas Skuse gets so much love? Oh, because Skuse is a sweet, nice guy, always smiled and tells people things they love to hear.

Douglas in fairness had a different role with us than that one from his Brentford days. He might have done more for us in an advanced position in midfield.

He was just a scapegoat for so many.

Because Skuse was a decent player in an unflashy role. You have to remember that those last 3 seasons were not definitive in terms of his overall contribution here.

Skuse was bloody awful.

Just because he played 500,000 games doesn’t make him better.

Decent is about right, certainly not terrible by no means.

Of all the players in the op the award for the worst player has to be Giles Coke. Now, there are players on the list who played worse than Coke at town, but my view on Coke goes beyond town.

2015-2017
Coke played 10 games with no goals

2018
Played 2 games for Chesterfield with no goals

2018-2020
Played 4 games for Oldham and no goals

2020-2021
Played 9 games for Hereford and scored no goals

2021-2022
Played 41 games for Grimsby and scored 1 goal

This means during his peak years from the start of 2012's season to the end of 2021's seasons he never managed to get near double digits... that's appearances.

Every time Coke was on the program it was worrying enough but when he got on the pitch it was downright deflation as you knew the chap was way above his station in the Championship.

Joe Royle never rated him, so you're in decent enough company. Didn't think he was strong enough to play as a centre-half in a back four.

I read that Tom Brown played his final 3 games in August '51 so hats off to you. I only go as far back as Roy Bailey and Wilf Hall who I'm not sure I ever saw play

Tom Brown was an interesting character, certainly if you investigate his exploits in WWW2.

When I scored against him he was playing for Benton School Old Boys having spent his childhood years in Scotland! He had finished playing for Bury Town as in 1961 they decided to go amateur. They were top of the League as they had other ex- pro’s and the draw we got was an exceptional effort. He congratulated on my goal and then told to enjoy it as I would no get another kick and I didn’t.

The players who are yet to be mentioned:

Stephen Gleeson - yet another Giles Coke. We needed a striker, some firepower back in January 2018. So mccarthy signed....slow, geriatric Gleeson and had his customary go at fans who themselves questioned this addition.

Oli Hawkins - dear me ! A signing who perfectly charts Evans and his era in League One times

Troy Brown - remember this CB?

I suspect a George Burley select would win this with something to spare. Marco Holster would be the first name on the sheet just edging out A bloke from Grimsby who played with a tag on his ankle and deserves two places because the deranged Burley clearly thought Croft was better than Clapham - a truly criminal signing. Up front take your pick…. samassi Abou, Gerry Creaney… at the back the Perla-injured John Scales,,,

‘Deranged George Burley’. What a dreadful thing to say. Is it worth me saying that in the play off final Croft played right back and Clapham left back? No, why add facts to bile eh?

For the record he was not the best but there were a lot worse players to turn out for this club than Gary Croft.

Agreed. He wasn’t close to this list. Went on to have a couple of decent years at WBA including in the PL afterwards too.

Dinning is a worthy addition. Very poor.

We seem to have had a number of very poor left backs, Harbey has quite obviously been mentioned and, Oh Dear, I'm surprised that nothing has been mentioned of Danny Karbassiyoon on loan from Arsenal.

You have every right to disagree with anyone about selection and their view of players but to say "the deranged Burley" is worth a ban imho. I have refrained from making many ( if any) posts in response to your constant sniping and negativity about everything itfc . I have left the "budgie" claims to others but seriously, why do you come on here? It can't do you any good whatsoever. Have a think, can you find something positive to post about the club? We have just had a great season you know!

Must mean him or Aaron Mclean.

Both would be great shouts were it not for the fact we’ve inexplicably had about half a dozen worse than those in the last 10-15 years.

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

I believe Matheson has just been released by Wolves.
Cost them £1m and never played for them, just loaned out.

Not sure about other positions yet (although Marco Holster is always the first name that comes to mind), but a back 3 of Drissa Diallo, Georges Santos and Darren O'Dea would be enough to give most Town fans nightmares!

No bigger than back 4 of Spence, Chambers, Pennington, Knudsen from 2018/19.
