Yeah twitters not great.

In reply however. If any of the burns family wish to make themselves known ill happily apologise to them.

However I've never once attacked any of them or him directly so it's a bit slanderous tbh.

Sadly Joe, there’s more chance of Nelson getting his eye back than certain individuals thinking about what they post.

I’m not surprised. How would any of us like to be constantly criticised week in week out by people who know nothing about us and don’t understand what we do.

This is why I sincerely hope the players/staff don't read the TWTD forum (or if they do, they take certain posters with a pinch of salt).

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

It really is objectionable to have supposed supporters endlessly undermining the good will of players and team. Reasoned discussion and opinions are fine, and we wont all agree. But the constant incessant sniping is pathetic and damaging.

FFS. Just try some self reflection, just for a moment, and consider that the hoards of people that tell you that your opinion on this matter (and the way you persist with it) is wrong, may just have a point.

If you can't see that in light of the OP here, then there really is no hope.

As for the bile that some ‘fans’ shout at matches…. I don’t remember there being so much anger at matches in the past. There was obviously a bigger hooli element, but I don’t remember as many sad little angry men (mostly men, but not always) scattered around the crowd. Maybe it’s just me and I’ve changed, but it seems wherever I go, at any ground, you’re surrounded by bellends hurling abuse at their own players.

On another thread our resident specialist in verbal diarrhoea called Wes Burns ‘crp’. I wonder if he would say that to his face and what the consequences would be?

Contusions and a visit to A&E is my best guess.

Personal messages criticising players should draw no parallels with venting on here (a public forum for discussion) or letting off steam about recent performances. Any attempt to shut down all criticism of the team is a bit strange as this is meant to be a forum for debate.

Even when one of Burns' relatives has spoken about the impact your bile has on them, your response is "Bit dramatic. It's a football forum". If you had even half a brain, something like this might make you pause for thought and realise that the persistent and awful nature of your posting does actually have an impact and maybe you should rein it in. But no, that is clearly well beyond you. Absolute weapon.

But it’s not debate when it is the same poster posting the same sh1t all the time.

Players dip in and out of form, fans point that out - they debate that. But you can’t debate when someone has just spent 3 years saying someone is rubbish, holding them to impossible standards and not having a clue

Why would I sat it to his face? That would be cruel and not of interest to me. Would I phrase it differently to him if I had the opportunity to relay my thoughts on his performances of course but that's the respectful thing to do.

Saying my piece on an Internet forum is freedom of speech. I personally don't see why a footballer would want to read random fan thoughts on a forum.

It really is unbelievable that during such a brilliant period for the club we have so many people being so critical of players and staff. It's fine to criticise performances but the stuff we are seeing is just totally ridiculous and beyond the pale.

I overhead some blokes yesterday after the game saying 'Burns is not good enough for this level' and 'the trouble is these players are league one players - they can do it at that level but not this' and Broadhead is 'not good enough. I could not believe it. Just staggering ignorance and disrespect. I am worried I'm going to end up in an argument with some of these people because it's getting harder to not react to the nonsense.

I can only assume it's all the glory hunters who just want to watch us win 5-0 every week and don't actually know anything about football.

Does anyone actually take Frimmers seriously? Look at his signature. Zero credibility. A genuine irritation rather than the uncomfortable truths he likes to present it as.

Used to be likeable enough but has now fully leaned into this tragic new persona.

"Slanderous"?

1. You mean libellous (ie written defamation).

2. It's *not* libellous where they (Burns/supporter/s in this case) is factually correct in his comment - which in this case he is. Plenty of evidence on this forum in the shape of your own comments.

Nonsense post. Goodwill of players- they’re highly paid individuals operating in the public eye and not above criticism. Damaging to whom? You’re suggesting every comment submitted on here is pinned up in the dressing room. This is a forum for debating the good or bad and criticism doesn’t make anyone less of a supporter- it’s a feature of football boards up and down the country and has been since time immemorial.

What do you think would happen if you went up to him and said his performances were bad? What benefit do you think Wes would take from that?

Would he then suddenly change his style of play because some berk who never sets foot in the place has a personal vendetta against him?

You need to have a think about your actions and the constant bilge, this place is all about discussing football, but your weird obsession with Burns is embarrassing.

That’s not a surprise.

This is a fans forum where we can discuss all things ITFC, both good and bad - but there is never any need to be personal in any attacks on people.

I have said the same even when I think players have been out of form lately, with Ladapo & Broadhead, but there is never any need to go overboard or personal on people.

Always try and keep things sensible & balanced.

Edit : I’m not piling on to you Frimley or directly at you (just talking in general), to be honest I probably don’t read the forum enough to see much of your posts. I’ve seen your comments about whack-a-ball, but they’re just silly rather than personal.

What you’re saying is that personally you don’t like it. Again, it’s a public forum and as long as it sticks to opinion and not personal attacks in the form of direct message it’s nothing that any individual in the public eye won’t have experienced. The idea that players engage and read everything about them on a public forum is ludicrous, direct messages is different.

So personal attacks on a message board are ok but not via direct message?
