Poch gone at Chelsea on 19:10 - May 21 by PhilTWTD | I think it would be a huge surprise if they appointed someone who hadn't taken charge of a single Premier League game. Too much of a risk for those appointing him. |
I think you are probably right. Chelsea have also had a big manager churn and spent alot and probably dont want the risk of an unknown quantity. Maybe Man U under the Ineos guy may decide to take a risk on a young manager. Maybe. Have you heard anything more on Brighton?

Poch gone at Chelsea on 19:43 - May 21 by burnbudgiesburn | Pace of life was a lot slower. No internet, 24/7 news. Was just before my time in supporting Town - but I recall Man City, Everton & Sunderland all wanted him at one time or another during his time here as well as other clubs abroad. |
Pretty sure he actually agreed terms with Everton but the deal broke down.

Very close to joining Everton. I may have dreamed this but I recall reading that the Cobbolds actually caught up with him at an airport when he was going to speak to a Spanish club. Sure I remember my dad and grandad talking about it at the time.

Just so un-Mckenna like. Not worried at all. He'll want a big club but Chelsea is the worst big club you could be manager of. Nightmare of a club

From their perspective yes. But from McKenna's perspective - they went through 9 managers in 9 years, names like Hiddink, Conte, Sari, Tuchel, Potter, Poch... he'd be naive to think he'd not get sacked after them. And he is not naive

10 managers in 8-years. What a shambles of a club. Potch was gearing up for a good season next year and built momentum. Todd and his consortium should stick to baseball. They look ridiculous.

Poch gone at Chelsea on 20:01 - May 21 with 2390 views | E_I_E_I_E_I_O | This one is much much much more of a concern. Because if Chelsea want him imho he is far more likely to give up what he has here for Chelsea whereas he wouldn't for Brighton.

I'd be sickened if he went to Chelsea. I love McKenna to bits and always will for what he has done here, but rooting for Chelsea? I don't think I can do it. I'd say Chelsea is the least likely of his destinations of the three jobs mentioned, four if you include ours.

Poch gone at Chelsea on 19:18 - May 21 by TRUE_BLUE123 | I would be staggered if Chelsea appoint KM. HUGE risk. if it goes wrong they look very very very silly. |
Chelsea sack managers for fun, them being silly is normal. Poch had the experience, if you're only going to give Poch one season, then you'll be silly enough to appoint a mgr who has never managed in the Prem

Nope don't agree. Absoutely no chance Mckenna goes to a club that sacks managers in months. They're looking at Mckenna because he has had instant sucess and that's what Chlesea crave. However Mckenna's style isn't about achieving uick success, despite having had it with us, it's about building something and bigger than just results. He'd need minimum 2 years at Chelsea to make dramtaic changes and embed a style and culture. He'd be lucky if they give him 6 months. Mckenna and his advisers will be like, yeah flattered by the interest but no thanks. Just not a chance. However we do have a problem, I fully expect ETH to be sacked after the FA cup. It's basically nailed on whatever the result. If United offer Mckenna the job he'll be gone. However I'm quite hopeful Pochettino is the kind of manager Unted will go for and it may be a reason why Poch left my mutal consent because he's already spoken with United. That's what we need to happen. [Post edited 21 May 2024 20:16]

Poch gone at Chelsea on 20:15 - May 21 with 2174 views | MattinLondon | Chelsea are a basket case of a club whose managers last roughly five minutes. KM will have no control over transfers, there will be a lot of boardroom interference and their fans are self-entitled bell ends.

Poch gone at Chelsea on 19:27 - May 21 by portmanking | De Zerbi strikes me as the perfect fit for Chelsea. Flamboyant, aggressive etc. Literally fed up of us having success already. It's soul-destroying that medium-sized clubs like us can't hold onto nice things and build. |
Left Brighton because he wanted to have more say over hiring...which is why Poch has just left Chelsea...might need to compromise on his principles!

Poch gone at Chelsea on 20:46 - May 21 with 1773 views | Help | I must admit that I am slightly at a loss with the Prem and manager sackings/partings. I appreciate that it is all about winning, champions league etc. But how much money are these teams/owners wasting. Poch has been there one season and gone already. Ten Hag going after the cup final De Zerbi moving on Touchel moving on (to the Prem) again? Is there any due diligence carried out, or is it just blind optimism with these appointments? I understand that this has been going on for years, but is it getting worse, or more frequent? I am truly lost for words where this is going.
