So as I understand it, the league had to be informed a week or two ago who has been released (and who has been offered new contracts which they may or may not accept.) These released players (and I guess players who were disappointed with the offers made, if there are any) will have had their agents get busy trying to get signed somewhere else, and in some cases may already have been snapped up. Their new clubs are just waiting for Town to make their retained list public before they can announce their signings?
Is that where we are at the moment? What's the next deadline?

GK 1. Hladky 2. Walton 3. Slicker
RB 4. Axel 5. Clarke
RCB 6. New player 7. Wolf 8. Edmundson
LCB 9. Burgess 10. New player
LB 11. Davis 12. New player
RCM 13. Morsy 14. New player
LCM 15. New player 16. Taylor 17. Luongo
RAM 18. Burns 19. New player
No.10 20. New player 21. Chaplin
LAM
22. Sarmiento 23. Broadhead
Striker
24. New player 25. Hirst 26. Ali
8 new players sounds right to me, loans in there.
Humphreys is going on loan, suspect also Baggot (convinced he'll break through soon though). Sarmiento is returning. I understood Omari would not.
We say goodbye to Donacien, Ball, Travis, Harness, Jackson, Aluko, Moore. And perhaps Luongo? to reduce squad to 25?
GK We need a new goalkeeper, Hladky backup, Walton sell, Slicker needs a loan, get one of those 38 year old types as #3
RB / CB Need a new right back so Axel can go back into the middle and therefore only need one new centre-back. Edmundson probably surplus to requirements then
CM One new midfielder here, don't see the need for 5
There's not actually that many out of contract so they will move on, then one or two others later in the summer no doubt. Out of contract of those in and around the squad: Ball, Jackson, JD. Aluko and Hayes we already know about.
Edit, forgot Camara, who will obviously be released.

El-Miz as well, we've an option which we might take to sell?
All the players out of contract will be released I guess. And then there will be players we are willing to sell who's names will get circulated around to other clubs.

ACM Hope one of those new players is Hutchinson
F I think Ali can go on loan to the Championship
Lee Grant could probably be a number 3. It is not unusual for a goalkeeping coach to fill that role and he is not really that old at 41.

Must be an option for cup games. No point in spending money on players to sit on the bench all season. We can have 25 players, only about 17 or 18 are likely to play in the premier league. 2 keepers may not be needed, so about 5 or 6 players who won't get a league game. Jackson, Harness, Humphries and 2 or 3 from the academy might as well have those spots.

As you've got 26 players in the list, presumably that means you are including Omari as the new no.10, as he is under 21 and doesn't count towards the 25 squad limit? Whilst I agree with that as a likely retained list, you could easily see one or two moving on if we secure an upgrade. I am in two minds about Elkan Baggott. It would be such a huge step up for him from L1 to Prem, but he has so much potential. Maybe a half season loan to the Championship.
Only right to give a few days between manager new contract and releasing players that have served us so well.
We will always remember these players for their achievements and more importantly for me their attitude when not getting much game time but also the big impact they all made when they came on, we have been so blessed with some many great human beings.

Keeper... definitely, whether we can find anyone better than Hladkyis debateable, being as good with the ball at his feet would be the key aspect as that is crucial to our play.
Right back definitely needed. Clarke has looked good this season when he's been fit but it would be good to have a proven high level RB in the team.
We might also need another RCB but I wonder if Edmundson might be more prominent this season.
Minimum 2, maybe 3 CMs needed to replace Travis & Ball (not their role in the squad, you would hope at least 2 of those would be pushing as starters).
2 or 3 10s / hybrid wingers - one to start on the left, one to interchange with Chaplin , one to be a like for like replacement with Burns
2 strikers with Ali to go out on loan.
Seems a lot I know but there are definitely areas to be strengthened. I think Morsy and Luongo have been phenomenal this season but most Premier league midfielders are incredibly athletic and we might struggle with that. Maybe we play the Chaplin role a bit deeper with Taylor playing there?
