I wonder if Johnson will provide some cover in CM.

Very potentially, could give us the room to go all out on Skipp? Tbh it's why I don't hugely buy the O'Shea link, it feels too low down the priority list to commit significant resource to it.

I did get the impression Mckenna wasn't too happy with Wolf at the back end of the season - had Edmundson not injured himself I think he would have finished the season, that didn't feel like a horses for courses change. But still feels low priority.

Looks like Fenerbahce wanted to get him off their wage bill. Know nothing about him. Is he pacey? We lack someone like Jackson and Sarmiento so, if he is, that is good provided he is good enough.

Yeah rapid, and fits that bill precisely.

Attributes not players/positions as McKenna once said.

i'll await Phil's catchphrase....

"TWTD understands" or "I have heard that there is nothing in it"

Or a "Wide of the mark".

Is he a "Schemer" though?

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

My Fenerbahce contacts tell me he's rubbish and Jose wants him moved on, but I remember him playing well in the Europa League for Rangers. Hopefully we're the move he desperately needs to turn his career around. 27 years old.

Quite!

Obviously not a replacement though, more a squad option. Imagine we are still looking for a better left 10.

Yep, one wonders whether we *have* stuck two fingers up to Blackburn now? £2.5m on Kent leaves more in the kitty to go big for a Jack Clarke or a Wilson Odobert?

can play in both wide positions as well. 2.5 for a squad player aint bad business. 1 who can potentially do alright in the Championship also.

Hope he’s a squad option rather than a regular starter. Very underwhelming if not.

Having just watched his highlights reel, I'm surprised that people should be sniffy about Kent if the rumour, and especially the price, proves correct.

Yes, it was the Scottish Premier, and yes, some of the goalies were below top drawer, but 25 yard goals (repeatedly) is 25 yards. And with almost no seeming preference between left foot and right, what would be not to like? Let's not get above our station, especially, since McKenna and the team keep doing that for us.

Hoping this is the Sarmiento replacement as opposed to the Philogene level LW signing we’re clearly after.

A good squad addition.

Should certainly focus their minds. Although we suddenly look so short in that 10 (or 3 behind the striker) area that Kent, Szmodics + another wouldn't surprise me at all.

In his last 3 seasons he has scored a grand total of 5 goals.

Doesn’t matter where they went in from. I’d rather have a player who scores scrappy goals with higher output, our 3 behind the striker is where the goals come from, his returns in a weak Scottish league for his last two seasons there before going to Turkey are very poor.

Where is Kent primarily used CAM or wide Left. If he’s an alternative to Szmodics I would understand but to an Odobert type signing then slightly underwhelming. Obviously the caveat with that as mentioned is more budget could go on upgrading other areas. Essentially it needs to be remembered that we are trying to form a premier league squad in one window as we still have league 1 players leaving us. Our rise has been so rapid it’come with its own problems.

We bid 20 million for Philogene.

Kent for 3 million will be squad player. We are looking for a starter in that position but need to beef up attacking positions.

Are we short in the 10? Omari and Chappers?

It could be:

Left 10:
Clarke/Odobert
Kent
Broadhead

Middle 10:
Hutchinson
Chaplin

Right 10:
Burns
Hutchinson
Delap
Kent

We usually sub the front four every game.

Albeit you state we have options for the starting 11, we are short for 8 fit players at present, with Broadhead and Hirst not available.
