Roll call, roll call… Manchester City (a) 09:34 - Aug 23 with 6170 viewsSitfcB

Who was lucky enough to get one of the 3,000 tickets then?

Leaving at 8 on the train, weather looks miserable in Manchester until early afternoon.

With regards to the game, let’s all hope for the best eh, football is a funny ole game etc etc but can’t see passed a 4-0 win for City, that or anything less would be good, but just never know if we can pick up a goal on the break and keep them at bay for as long as possible, there is usually a freak result at the Etihad now and then.

Yess! See you there’s

On parking the cheapest I could find was £6 at the Asda car park over the road from the stadium.

But alas.. I’ve managed to get a coach seat that leaves 7:30 from SBR.. it’s gonna be a long but fun day!

Me and the boy letting the train take the strain. 1st new ground since Fleetwood.

Good point, can't imagine there is too many on the list now to be cleared if you have been a regular away support for 25+ years?

Etihad, Olympic stadium, Brentford?

Shhhhhshh..

No luck, so got in with the away supporters, intend to boo and whinge about every 'slightly' missplaced pass by City and every time the run isn't quite right. See if I can spread discontent.

(Have a feeling those moments may be few and far between) surely even they're getting bored of winning now and anything other than perfection should be greeted with a boo

Er, we are the away supporters tomorrow.

Yep, could only get upper tier(!).

Parking £17 is the cheapest we could find!

Official or unofficial parking near the ground is extortionate and it will take you until about next Tuesday to get out afterwards. Street parking close to the ground is a non-starter as its all restricted. However if you don't mind a 15-20 minute walk there are opportunities to park for free a bit further out and despite the walk you'll still get away quicker. My wife is a City season ticket holder and she does that every game.

I'm getting the tram in from Bury, meeting friends in the city centre for a drink and then tram to the Etiihad. After the match I'll meet the wife for a lift home!

Yep, although the MEN headlines do be nothing to calm people down as usual! Presume you’re on the Manchester to Altrincham line with your name?

Yeah, I live in Sale Moor, so actually quite annoying for the tram.... I'm essentially a 15/20 minute walk from 4 tram stops, between the Altrincham line and the Airport line.

At a wedding tomorrow, so really annoyed to miss one of my local matches :-(

Yeah I know it, I’m ion a similar position to tram stops too but the other way.

Whoever gets married during the season isn’t important enough to keep in your life I’d say!

This is what I do at all away games, usually drive right up to the ground then work my way out until I see some decent looking street parking.

Any areas/road names even to head towards based on your wife's experience?

TWTV - On the Road Towards Adversity - come and say hello on 14:10 - Aug 23 with 1541 viewsTWTV_Admin

The TWTV team are lucky enough to be heading up to the Etihad, some as we type, and they’ll be two of us in the (swanky) press box this week.

Hoping to up our game from last week’s ‘pilot’ verdict show. Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions so far, keep it coming.

The channel is for you and we’ll be making more of a connection to the forum this week. If you see us around come and say hello, or give in to the mic! You’ll find us on the 10.25 from Euston, around Piccadilly, around the Etihad stadium and both upper/lower tiers.

Oh and do give Homer’s post match thread your 3 words to describe McKennas greatest test - hopefully “Historic Town Win”.

We’re speaking to fans on the road and have TWTDers lined up for post match reaction.. hopefully we can give those unable to go a flavour of the occasion and the Etihad.

Phil’s preview and the blogs confirm the scale of the challenge! This is real adversity, but it’s what we’ve waited for.

So many talking points this week as well, especially with the summer signings moving towards 11 and £100million net spend.

Enjoy it

Did you not do the Carling cup match in 2011? I had an Arsenal mate at that one who knew phsio staff...

Great stadium and seating blew me away back then.

Always shorts until the end of September.

I went to Udders away last year and wore shorts and t shirt. It was about 6 degrees and horizontal rain.

I'll be there tomorrow but in a jumper.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

That’s a good point, I went to that as well and certainly didn’t wear shorts.

I’ll amend my original statement to “shorts to the end of September (unless it’s cold)”.
