Was reading their forum earlier. A lot saying we 'will get relegated' and they can't understand why he would move. Right, so he should stay a league lower and bank on Sunderland getting promotion? Odds on them getting promoted will be longer than us staying up. And even if we did get relegated he's had a year to prove himself in the PL and earn a move elsewhere. Before you even consider the financial benefits of moving.

When they started belittling us I turned it off. Must be really hard to accept that “Ipswich” has surpassed them. I’m sure in time they will get it. Fans of Clubs like Brighton, Brentford must have had years of it without even much of a history too. The fact is little Ipswich just plucked Sunderland’s best player from them and like the s*um over on their page can’t quite keep the green eyed monster away. What a time to support the blues. COYB
£15m is an absolute steal, according to them. But even if he joins us we have no chance of staying up, as he won’t get a touch, apparently. Personally I’d like to think such a player who we’ve ‘stolen’ from them might well be able to fashion himself a few chances here and there and who knows, play his part in keeping us up? Not that much of a steal otherwise, I’d have thought

Such a terrible move for Clarke. Ipswich are so much smaller than Sunderland
I have loved the fact we have generally punched above our weight. I have no issue with other fans thinking of us a parochial small Club.
We know better and moreover - we know that we are now a far 'better' Club than many and I think that it what bothers other fans.
In fairness, Sunderland 'should' be a big Club, big old, loyal passionate fans but they have historically underperformed and not only that have been a shockingly poorly run Club.

just seen this stat. Getting excited for this one
Genuinely think this is an incredible signing. Very similar to a Villa Grealish imo and that left side is perfect for him in the way we play, he can have free reign to drift inside and impact games.

I have no problem with the 2 presenters whatsoever. They recorded it late last night when the news had just broken, so understandably they are disappointed in their tone, & to them it does make little sense because we are favourites to go down. Think of it that we hadn't gone up last season, but Preston had (I know, I know, but to them ...), then a week into the new season they sign our best player, Leif Davis. How would we react? We could accept him going to a top half club, but to a side that is almost certain to be relegated would make no sense, even with it giving him Premier League football & tripling his wages. It's actually a good thing that they see it like this, as it copperfastens how highly they rate him, after watching him week in/week out. They have no idea how good we are going to be, but clearly the vision has been sold to Jack Clarke.

Looking at their forum, they’re not entirely happy. Oh dear, so sad, never mind. They of course have a big love in with Norwich and play for a little cup every season. How sweet.
Actually, I’ve no problem with them, even if they have a problem with us. Good, passionate support, years of cr@p owners has stopped them doing as well as they should have.
A couple of chums of mine are mackems. I will no doubt get a text at some point.
Edit: they have a young lad called Rigg who has broken into their first team and looks promising from what I saw when they trod all over Wednesday the other day. Worth a cheeky £1m bid?

Clarke has always reminded me of Grealish.
So many similarities apart from Clarke actually still looks to go forward and Grealish now just passes backwards.

Blimey what a bitter twisted pair😂
It does come across like that. Listened to the last 5 minutes and they were saying " We wish him well, but not that well and hope Ipswich come straight back down again and he really regrets his move.
Surely they'd want him to do well so we sell him for 50 million and they get another big payout.

I think it just shows how disappointed they are and, as they obviously don’t want to blame the player, they take it out on the fee, where he’s going etc. I guess they have a bigger stadium than us, but really pretty similar, especially in terms of recent history.
Prefer them to the Tackems myself.
This is fücking brilliant signing, though; I’d be sad if he were leaving us.
