i always preferred Ronaldo because he played in England and watching his development at United has good to watch and i feel like he's got the absolute maximum out of his ability a she's not as naturally gifted as Messi.
The last 3-4 years, have soured my view of him, i think he's gone too far with his view of himself and what he can now do in pursuit of individual awards and goals.

Once you start getting to that echelon of players, it all becomes highly subjective. It is difficult to say who is greater than the other, as we all rate players differently and prefer different attributes.
Personally, I have always preferred Messi having seen Barca play a few times each season when he was there (my Dad was a Barca fan). I have always considered Messi the more naturally talented one but Ronaldo the hardest worker. Ronaldo's mindset is just unbelievable, to have that focus, that drive, even at his age is phenomenal. |  |

I agree, Messi is a natural. Which actually makes Ronaldo's achievements possibly greater?
I'm not saying that Messi hasn't had to or doesn't work hard but the fact that Ronaldo isn't as naturally gifted, the work he's put in to get there and maintain it is likely more than Messi. |  |

But, Ronaldo is totally up there with him. The rivalry has added some spice, but on another level it’s a shame they played in the same era. Both deserve nothing but praise and adulation. They’ve been phenomenal. 2 once in a Century players at the same time. |  |

Ronaldo doesn’t ‘deserve adulation and praise’ for his off field antics - those he was fined and punished for and those that remain paid-off allegations. His career is also stained by some of his antics on the pitch ,especially more recently. |  |
