Thoughts on Delap 22:53 - Sep 23 with 4638 views | LittleBoyBlue1 | Unquestionably a good footballer. But I've seen glimpses of a thugishness about him. I hope I've misinterpreted it because I don't really think we want that around the team. What's everyone else's thoughts?

Thoughts on Delap on 23:14 - Sep 23 with 3906 views | Churchman | Have you? Wow. I’m looking forward to your explanation. Not quite sure what you’d have made of Chopper Derek Jefferson. Or Allan Hunter who told Allan Clarke ‘one more and I’ll break your f*#king leg’, after Clarke had been winding up John Wark on debut. Or believe it or not Paul Mariner, who told the Cologne centre half that he was ‘going to do him’ as they were lining up in the tunnel for the second leg of the UEFA semi final. The bloke didn’t last five minutes.

Thoughts on Delap on 23:23 - Sep 23 with 3855 views | Vegtablue | You've got up to speed quickly! McKenna financially liberated to to do a bang average job, Portman Rd a dive, O'Shea rubbish, manager doesn't know Omari's game, doesn't know Szmodics' game, fans fine to buy tickets with no intention of going, Delap a thug, and all within a week of joining. I don't think he's a thug.

Have some “balmy night on Wearside” as a cleanser.

Thoughts on Delap on 02:36 - Sep 24 with 3403 views | Mercian | I would say aggression rather than thugishness and that is exactly what a striker should have. Delap will never be a Michael Owen type who can dribble around defences with speed and trickery. He is more of a Harry Kane type. He needs to be able to hold his own against hairy assed Premier League centre-halves. The opponents box is no place for timid wimps otherwise even average defenders like Issa Diop or Ethan Pinnock will have a field day. [Post edited 24 Sep 2024 9:18]

Two blokes I certainly would not mess with. They took it to far especially Ferguson was jailed for 2 months for headbutting an opponent when he was at Rangers. Sh*t housery like Halaand last weekend when he threw the ball at Gabriel before running away was funny though. There was no malice in it and he only threw if softly so I have nothing against that. Halaand should have be booked though.
Thoughts on Delap on 07:12 - Sep 24 with 2926 views | BondiBlue | I like that side of him very much. But i was born in 1983 and roy keane is my favourite player of all time. Football has changed and now you get sent off for time-wasting and men covered in tattoos throw themselves to the ground when barely touched. In short, i think you're being a bit of a wet wipe. But saying that, there are a lot of wet wipes who watch football (and even play sunday league) these days.

Thoughts on Delap on 07:17 - Sep 24 with 2897 views | Europablue | The problem with Delap is the way that referees treat him. Referees give a lot of fouls against him. Because he is such a unit people try to push him, but bounce right off him. At one point against Southampton, he gave their player a slight push and their player fell down on the ground and rolled over multiple times.
Thoughts on Delap on 07:22 - Sep 24 with 2874 views | victorysquad | I think you need to be more careful about your use of language. This is a public forum and your post could easily be read to mean Liam is acting like a thug off the pitch in some way because you mention not wanting this around the team, That would be an accusation that you would need to back up with some sort of evidence. If you mean on the pitch, then no we need more physicality not less. If you are just trolling, then job done.

I think you are being a little harsh. I guess that the original poster does not understand the way football works as well as some of us. I certainly don't think slander was intended.
