Booing the knee from itfc fans? 18:10 - Oct 20 with 27736 viewsMullet

Was this particularly widespread/loud? This clip seems to pick up one fella or so. Obviously, anyone doing it is an ignorant prick but I’d hope it’s totally isolated.

Players like the one you mention. Meet a certain criteria to be able to be selected for a nation. They can then accept or decline. For me the manager should also follow suit. That's not just for our country btw. You mention Germany it should be the same for them and any other country. It just seems odd that you have to meet a certain criteria to be able to play for them but you don't to manage.

Blimey Frimmers, now I'm worried. We seem to agree on something.

Whether you support the gesture or not, why would you boo it? You are booing people taking the knee against racism.

It’s not simply that. It’s emblematic of an entire agenda. It started as just anti racism in tHE NFL with Kapernick. It’s now a completely different kettle of fish.

I want to actually win a tournament mate, name me one English manager that has ever won the Premier League since its inception in 1992. I'll give you a hand you can't because that person doesn't exist. If an English man can't manage an English team to win the top division in England then what chance does an English manager have in winning an international tournament?

I want the best man for the job who actually has a shot of winning something with what's left of this golden generation of players. We've wasted far too many good chances in tournaments in the past few years, I don't understand why people are happy to waste even more time just because the daily mail told them to.

Whether its tokenism or not, booing an anti-racism gesture is pathetic and makes you look like a racist bellend

It started as an anti racism gesture, but seems to have become more. Any anti racism gestures should obvs be applauded.

Not every manager to win the Euro's or World Cup's have been great at club level. Some managers just know how to put a side together and get them to play as a team.

Is Remembrance Day tokenism? Is a minutes silence tokenism when a major tragedy has occurred?

I do wonder why taking a knee offends some people….actually I think we all know what type wil get offended by that.

Yes, of course. Both your examples are tokenism by nature. Doesn’t mean they’re bad tho

I'm not overly fussed what we win as a nation tbh. I do want to see more players representing us tho. Think its rewarding for their club efforts. I don't think the same players should be involved irregardless of club form as can happen esp for England.

But I respect your view and as said I won't boo tuchel. I'm not upset he got it either. And hopefully he can have a good time being manager.

Woah hang on.

I don't agree with tuchel getting the England job. But I like the taking the knee gesture before a game. Its uniting.

You can't link the two things at all.

Why do you disagree with Tuchel? If he’s the best man for the job, then that’s of course the right decision,

As someone else said your other posts now make a lot more sense.

Even if for some strange reason the act of taking a knee to keep a message of 'no to racism' you find to be 'tokenism' why on earth would you want to boo. It's a few seconds. Booing something that is a good message is so unbelievable daft (or worse of course).

I didn’t boo. You seem confused.

A racist. A homophobic. Somebody who doesn't like anybody who isn't perfect. (in their eyes only)
Booing players taking the knee is just an absolute insult to all those that suffer bullying and inequality in life. Only those who have never experienced it would ever consider doing so. Life isn't perfect for most, but for some, it is almost unbearable. Maybe consider that before writing such vile comments on the internet. Just because we can't see you, doesn't mean we can't judge you.

I wouldn't care if our manager came from Mars as long as we won a tournament in my lifetime.

The main thing that's irked me about all of this is I do find it a bit peculiar that some newspapers where waxing lyrical over a certain Spaniard managing England but three days later lamented having a foreign coach.

Yes the point you make about remembrance day is a good one. Some people wear a poppy. Some people don't. No issue with that. But no normal person would boo a minute' silence.

No as this is club football. For Internationals ( aware there various rules surrounding call ups) but you're called up by your country so imo the manager should be to.. that doesn't however mean I'd boo tuchel either btw.

It wasn’t so long ago he’d have been eligible to represent England after a year of his new contract (the residency rule used to allow players to represent a country after 2 years residency, but that’s now 5).
