Booing the knee from itfc fans? 18:10 - Oct 20 with 28573 viewsMullet

Was this particularly widespread/loud? This clip seems to pick up one fella or so. Obviously, anyone doing it is an ignorant prick but I’d hope it’s totally isolated.

And Starmer likes freedom of movement as well. Thanks for bringing that up, I’ll be sticking with him.

You can’t be freedom of movement and pro union.

Just joining this gem of a thread late.
Can you show your workings with this one?
I'm afraid I don't understand your point here.

As an aside, there were a few pockets of healthy booing in SBRL.

Very classy.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

Even if there wasn’t a boo that tit would find something to make a race issue out of. Hes has no idea how racist he comes across at times, been called out so many times for it, but he just doesn’t see it.

I hope nobody within ITFC would boo this tho

No, they weren’t. NF was a minority in theb70s. Where’s the vision? Where’s the transformative leader? Where Blair, Obama, Macron!??

NF have always been a minority, and why wouldn't they ever be.

All, I was saying was that NF were getting strong in the 70's.

So, answer me a direct question if you wouldn't mind. How old are you and where did you grow up?

If you think Starmer’s government is hard left, it’s probably harder to understand than you realise. Interesting thread though. Or at least an interesting insight into some of the narrative that’s being peddled around taking the knee in the PL. It’s also crackers and frightening, but interesting all the same (assuming this isn’t a Blueas wind up).

I'm going with Footers.

There were the odd lone voices, but the vast, vast majority of the crowd were not booing and many applauded.

disappointing to hear, even so

We aren't one of those clubs and never have been so any fan doing this, is letting our history down in that regard

Does always feel like a minority in fairness. I’m sure I saw someone with a Farage sticker on a top hat at Southampton but was too far away to be sure. Always felt like that’s the type of moron who’d not be tolerated rather than us having a major issue.

Booing is just virtue signalling, except they're signalling gutter virtues. Should rightly be called out.

Imagine getting offended by someone taking a knee for 3 seconds.

What do you have against kneeling? The black players on our team don't seem to find it tokenism, that's good enough for me. What right do you have to say that!

They should have just changed the gesture. "Taking a knee" is offensive because it is American and kneeling is a sign of subservience.
I still have a problem with it, but I have to accept that ignorant people (mostly footballers) have accepted the gesture to represent anti-racism (which I support).
My stance is that I won't boo or clap it.

Probably also booed the idea of Tuchel getting the England job

I don't know about booing a managerial appointment, but why can't people express their dissatisfaction with a managerial appointment? Even if it is based on his nationality (the fact that he's not English rather than being German).

So you won't be supporting England until they get an English manager?

I want to actually win a tournament mate, name me one English manager that has ever won the Premier League since its inception in 1992. I'll give you a hand you can't because that person doesn't exist. If an English man can't manage an English team to win the top division in England then what chance does an English manager have in winning an international tournament?

I want the best man for the job who actually has a shot of winning something with what's left of this golden generation of players. We've wasted far too many good chances in tournaments in the past few years, I don't understand why people are happy to waste even more time just because the daily mail told them to.

I'll name you one English manager who has won the Premier League when you name me one foreign manager who has ever won a world cup.

A racist and a homophobe? I’m nothing of the sort. It’s clearly just a fad. If it was a real stand against racism then I’d be incredibly supportive, but it’s not. It’s just a fashionable response to a real issue, highlighted by Colin Kaepernick almost ten years ago. You cannot equate the experience of oppressed black Americans with that of professional footballers in the U.K.
