Yep. Having watched my mother die a slow and painful death, that stuck in my throat. The ban is overdue and I don't want to see him anywhere near this board again. Added feck all to the forum. Good riddance and I very rarely have that attitude about people.

Same here. Both my parents had far from pleasant deaths and I actually discussed taking my mother to Switzerland (thankfully she didn't want to) - and my father was keen to die - albeit he was far from "of sound mind" towards the end of his illness.

I appreciate it's a really difficult discussion for many, including those with concerns about safe guarding of vulnerable people.

Good riddance indeed.

Reading the last few comments I'm glad it's something I missed.

Well said and thank you. You’ve captured how I feel far better than I could have.

I've always been quite a fan tbf. Reliable consistency for the past 25 years or so, and through the utter piffle there's often been at least some germ of truth.

Sorry all, gave SB an up-arrow, then read the rest of the thread and didn’t realise what else Elephant had been saying.

With regard to his football drivel, I did once challenge him to say how he’d fix the club, and heard nothing for ages. Then refreshed the page again and a full-on essay appeared with what he would do… some of it unrealistic in the modern game, but he clearly had thought about it for a long time and had a vision.

No contributions to Erics' music threads so I knew he was a wrong 'un.
I guess he was the sort of person who don't do music.

Yeah, I’d just like to add to my earlier comment that I actually found him the best/funniest poster when it came down to football. I tended to find his posts on the owners/club quite funny.

Can’t comment on his other posts as I rarely get involved with politics/other threads.

His constant negativity about everything was quite amusing, but unlike most trolls or wind up merchants he came across very bitter and actively spiteful on occasions. Good riddance I'd say.

Yet here you are slumming it in the general section.

(Sorry, but I'm trying to be badass 'cos badasses get attention on TWTD)

He was an odd fish and he on occasion sailed close to the rocks, I fully expect with the reaction of many people I respect and like on this thread and the banning by the delightful Phil he crashed on them today.
I’ll be honest and say his posts always amused me in his consistency of negativity so much so i wondered why he was on here but there was at times a brutal truth in some of his utterances .. he reminded me a little of David Starkey on question time a few years back who’d come out with something spot on but unappealing and unpopular to be heard by the masses in polite society.
I think for me though his schtick was becoming tiresome.

He crashed on the rocks, salvaged a machine gun from the wreckage and started shooting the locals who came to help out.

In over 25 years on this forum it was literally the first post that has made me genuinely angry. Quite the feat.

Agree, i used to find his "insights" amusing (if way off the mark), like in a Victor Meldrew kind of way. But the constant "franchise" moaning had become tiresome and predictable. I thought he seemed an intelligent chap but the climate change denial stuff made me believe otherwise. He obviously gets no joy from supporting Ipswich anymore so maybe he should cut his ties with the club.

Yeah, I did the same there.

There was a point to much of the football posts even if the general aim was to get a reaction. The rest not so much,

I'd be interested to see a league table of forum votes, having just passed the +5000 mark myself (which I think is pretty good, but I know there would be many on way more than me).

I wonder if that's something Phil or Gav would have easy access to, to display? Maybe there could be relegation for the bottom 3 at the end of each season?!? It would certainly show who garners the most annoyance on here.

And maybe prizes for the top 3?!

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Yep, he was really starting to grate.

I get that he still wanted the club to belong to the Cobbolds and pined for days gone by, but clearly football in this day in age is not for him.

Not sure if he actually genuinely felt like that, and was just trying to get a bite, but it became a bit tiresome, so much so, most didn't even bother replying to his nonsense.
