How is it blowing down your way? If it goes on much longer Guernsey will be in France.

I had a curry and 6 pints of Ghost Ship last night.

The wind here is terrifying.

North Devon has been... ...interesting...

Someone up the road has a nice selection of plastic roof panels from my greenhouse. On the other hand, I now have three new recycling boxes :-/

Compared to the West Country, north Kent has been ok. Cold, wet, miserable and blowy but not too bad by comparison.

Roaring like an express train high on E side of Yorkshire Pennines.

Nothing like as scary as the hurricane about 1 hour into New Year’s Day 1993 (or was it 94?) on Orkney though. I was living in a cottage on an exposed western headland only 200m from the sea; and the wind gauge in comparatively sheltered Kirkwall broke when it reached 139mph …

It’s a bit blowy. Typical that I’ve suddenly found myself in possession of a year’s supply of wood after we got rid of the log burner

We’ve got brick walls here so luckily I won’t be having to replace any fences, unlike a lot of neighbours. And the solar panels are still attached to the roof and the roof attached to the house. All a bit of a result.

My old dad used to refer to that particular warm wind as coming from an 'Arserly direction, boy'.

Here at the foot of The Pennines there is heavy rain and 70 mph winds. Looking at the BBC Weather Map for 2100 the worst of the storm is in the North-Central Midlands/South-Central Northern England and Normandy/The Channel Islands with a smaller front moving over East Anglia. It is not as bad as it was earlier in The West but still pretty lousy.

Currently without power here (near Halstead).

This is a picture sent by a relative in Hampshire this morning:

I flew into Heathrow this morning and the flight attendants clapped when we touched down. I was amazed we didn’t go around and the attendants were expecting we’d have to go to the alternate.

A lot did yesterday, some were taking two or three attempts,if you can’t do it in three you are diverted to another airport.

Was chaos in Co Leitrim Friday night/Saturday morning. No electric, roof blown off wood shed, polytunnel half destroyed, plenty of trees down.

compared to other "the world is going to end" atlantic storms though its been a bit tame in comparison.

yes the odd toga, the odd hard landing but nothing like when they didnt land anything for best part of 30mins once as pilot after pilot aborted.

and there was clips last week on social media I think it was an Air India jet trying to land in a typhoon at Singapore airport (havent got the link sorry) flipping eck Jerry would have been going crazy watching landings like that.
