I don't see your post as insulting to QoS in any way. They are the only Scottish team I support - for family connection reasons.

Thanks. It's really not meant to be insulting, more esoteric.

I love Dumfries, I've spent a lot of time in that area running in the hills. I really like Mabie, New Abbey, the Solway Firth, Merrick and the Gatehouse of Fleet. I plan to retire to Scotland but ideally the Cairngorms around Aviemore.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

I actually feel sorry for him. He doesnt need the money, he clearly loves football and wants to be a success as a manager.

Unfortunately, its seems thats not going to happen.

Maybe he would be better off being part of someones coaching team.

He apparently isn't a coach who is seen on the training ground very often. Quite old school in that he turns up every now and again and leaves it all to the coaches.
I can't imagine the modern player thinks very highly of that.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

return of Steven Schumacher
i wonder?

Would seem the most logical outcome. Schumacher should never have left. What a difference a season and a bit makes.

I feel genuinely sorry for Plymouth fans. They were magnificent, even deservedly topping us the season before last. What a difference 18 months or so makes

Lampard got over a 150 IQ score years ago.

It's an interesting comparison. I think both were tremendous players but a manger is a totally different skill set, even more so in the modern game. It's like saying a zoo keeper would make a good butcher.

Gary Neville spoke quite well about his time at Valencia. He spoke about how difficult it is to see the game from the dugout versus the gantry. He spoke about how Spanish managers in LaLiga would make really subtle tactical changes constantly and he just didn't know what was going on.

I agree with Neville, but why do modern managers feel the need to watch the game from a worm's eve view? Watch the first half from the stands & then you might want to be down on the pitch for the 2nd half. Do they just want the chance to give pointless verbal to the 4th official?
Of course some, like McKenna, love the "time out" half way though the first half.

The question that has always bothered me is, who tells Chaplin the instructions that were given whilst he was lying down?

Great footballer in his time but he’s clearly not a good manager/coach. His big name status will not keep getting him jobs as his managerial record continues to go from bad to worse.

I can’t even see him as a TV pundit as he has zero personality.

In this country maybe - there will be a sheikh or an oligarch somewhere else in the world prepared to give him a job.

I think with modern analysts/technology we have people watching the 'high view' and communicating that to McKenna. We have at least one analyst who 'live clips' stuff during the matches that are available to McKenna in the dugout.

On the other hand the local BBC reporter says that he's never worked with a more approachable manager.

Yo be fair he's not the worst person that the Premiership era has produced. Management not his gig. Maybe a youth academy in North West independent from specific clubs would work

Yeah I’m with you on this. Obviously not money motivated and wants to put something back into the game. Did reasonably well at Derby and nearly kept them up despite the points deduction. Failed miserably at Birmingham but was in a hiding to nothing at Plymouth as the damage had already been done by the last bloke.

The mutual consent are ageing means he won’t get the compensation he would have received had he been sacked, which also shows the measure of the mean. As a former England great I hope he finds another club and rebuilds his reputation.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

It’s starting to look more and more like Liam Rosenior was the architect of the Derby ‘success’.

Lunacy at this point for another club to offer him anything other than a coaching job - I’d be raging as a fan of any club that offered him a management role.

Liam Rosenoir was assistant to Rooney at Derby. That might account for why he did reasonably well.
