Does anyone else really dislike Wrexham? 15:28 - Jan 1 with 6665 views | ringwoodblue | Just hate all the hype surrounding them because of their Hollywood owners. Really hope they don’t get promotion again this year. Losing to Barnsley today - cmon Barnsley!

Quite like the story, yeah they’ve pumped a load of money in but how else do clubs get success these days? Been very good for the local community in a lot of way as well by all accounts.

They're actually running the club really well and the local community have benefitted massively. I've followed them since the takeover and whilst the owners might be Hollywood, they are making sound decisions and have good football people at the club. Would be remarkable for them to go up again.

Also an Anglo-Welsh one with Chester, though it's not a long distance apart.

Been left to rot for decades and found themselves falling down the pyramid New owners come in and get the local community involved, alongside spending money and improving the ground Don’t get the hate

So let me see. An old established Club that had fallen on hard times. They have been taken over by Americans They have brought in a good manager They have invested heavily in the team and infrastructure. They have been successful and had two promotions. I dont know where they got their ideas from ?? [Post edited 1 Jan 19:29]

While they might have spent money, at least they have a large fanbase that has responded by filling the Racecourse for the last few seasons. Far better than wealthy owners funding (now former) non-league clubs like Fleetwood or Salford and getting tiny crowds.

Ha, have never really thought of us like that. Whilst our owners are wealthy I have always felt our success has been more down to the structure implemented and the genius of the manager we’ve recruited as opposed to how they just blew everyone out of the park financially in non-league.

Does anyone else really dislike Wrexham? on 17:59 - Jan 1 with 3928 views | algy | I expect their supporters are proudly Welsh as they should be. I know the historic reasons why they were in the Football League but once they were relegated out of it they shouldn't have been allowed back in once the FL rebranded to the EFL 8 years after they left. They should proudly play in the Cymru Premier and support football in Wales.

The first year under Gamechanger we spent more than every other team in the league, and in the second we spent more than the rest of the league combined…

But I've heard that our L1 success was due to the brilliant Kieran McKenna. Money had nothing to do with it.

Does anyone else really dislike Wrexham? on 18:25 - Jan 1 with 3809 views | Crawfordsboot | I have no opinion on Wrexham FC but Wales….. Don’t get me started. A country full of mean little grey pebbledash houses full of chapel going little people. Hitching through as a student all I saw were these little people driving past on their way to chapel pretending not to see us standing in the rain looking for a lift. I’ve never forgiven them 🧙🧙🧙🧙 PS if you are an offended Welsh person think tongue in cheek. [Post edited 1 Jan 18:35]

I agree and feel the same about Cardiff and Swansea. To see their fans singing antiEngland songs, then be part of the English league doesn't feel right. Think they should be playing in the Welsh league.

If they had all been going to chapel, you wouldnt have got far hitching a lift with any of them.

Newport too, they were allowed in and they're not even the same club that was relegated from the Football League.

Does anyone else really dislike Wrexham? on 18:40 - Jan 1 with 3711 views | Mullet | I just don’t think Welsh clubs should be in the English pyramid. There’s loads of clubs far worse for financial doping - but at that level I get why people hate them.

No one’s accounts for last season have been released so no idea how you’ve established that It isn’t really relevant anyway, the poster I was responding to was referring to the way Wrexham spent their way out of the conference, seemingly oblivious that we did the same thing in League One
