We've played them all, who was the worst? 12:48 - Jan 2 with 6830 views | Jrm_72 | As title says, who has been the worst team we have played in the prem? I haven't seen much of Southampton so my vote goes to Leicester. Last season we had two really tough games against them, and they seem to have regressed significantly since then. We can talk about the penalty that wasnt all day, but we shouldve been 3 nil up by then and it be moot.

We've played them all, who was the worst? on 20:35 - Jan 2 by The_Romford_Blue | Just based on the 90 minutes against us.. Worst: 1) Wolves. Thought they were truly terrible. 2) Leicester. Really poor. 3) Southampton. Very poor even against us in one of our worst performances. 4) Man U. Thought they were the worst of the non relegation threatened teams by a mile. Best: 1) Bournemouth. By a long way that second half was the best I’ve seen this season from any team. 2) Newcastle. They looked a really good side I thought. For the whole game actually. Incredibly professional display even at 4-0 up when they eased off a bit. 3) Liverpool. Again second half just very good. 4) Fulham. Thought we were excellent that day but Fulham on the ball in my view right up there with teams we’ve played this season. |
Thought Bournemouth were terrible for an hour. Bang average. A good half hour but very beatable. Newcastle streets ahead for me. West Ham for me really good solely because they exploited our weaknesses time and time again. The front 3 destroyed us by getting it up there early.

We've played them all, who was the worst? on 13:29 - Jan 2 by Dubtractor | Leicester are the worst team we've played. I still have some residual anger about what happened in that game! No arguing with the table and Southampton's dismal showing though, and they will finish comfortably bottom of the pile. Everton and Palace both looked very limited against us, but did exactly what they needed to get a result. Everton look horrible every time I see them - just a dreadful team to watch and so lacking in quality in the final third. |
Leicester lost Maresca and Dewsbury-Hall. I don't think they especially improveed their squad (certainly not to the degree we did). Whilst van Nistleroy gave them a very brief bounce, he has now overseen 4 losses on the trot. I am not sure he has proven himself managerial material simply by getting something out of the players who had downed tools for other managers at United. 1.4 ppg across the 2 clubs and 0.67 at Leicester suggest he isn't going to improve them.

We've played them all, who was the worst? on 12:49 - Jan 2 by homer_123 | Oddly, I'm going with Chelsea. Given their league position, squad depth and quality - I really thought they were poor. Yes, we worked hard to make it tough for them to play and did a great job on them but in comparison to Liverpool, City etc. they were very poor. |
Hardly poor, they made a lot of changes and bar post/bar/offside/dodgy pen they could have won that on another day. Leicester I would say are the only team we dominated until they went down to ten.

We've played them all, who was the worst? on 13:07 - Jan 2 by gsoly | This, x10. If they really are financially screwed and struggle to buy this January, they will finish 16th or below. It's not insane to think they could go down. |
And every season that they are out of the CL they will haemorrhage money on inadequate expensive players with sponsors dropping them quite quickly.

We've played them all, who was the worst? on 12:58 - Jan 2 by LankHenners | I don't think we actually played that well ourselves against Leicester and should have done more to put them to bed before the ref got a chance to ruin the game. However, I agree that they looked rubbish, certainly a lot worse than the iteration we faced last season. Equally Southampton looked a lot worse than last season and that was a weird game where both goals came in halves where the other team looked stronger. If we hadn't have conceded a sloppy goal and instead gone ahead first I'm pretty confident we'd have won that one comfortably. |
Southampton scored a lovely goal against us. Wasn’t sloppy

From when we cheaply gifted the ball to them it was nice yeah.

Fulham were good too, but hopefully we've become a bit more streetwise in the Prem since the homegame and will give them a decent game Sunday.

We've played them all, who was the worst? on 13:26 - Jan 2 by bsw72 | No, we did well against them but rode our luck at times with the offside goal, free kick hitting the post etc. They were not the worst team I have seen us play, I thought Everton and Leicester were both poor sides helped by our own and the referee’s ineptitude. |
I agree with most of what you said, but this is about the tenth time I've seen an Ipswich fan say we were lucky against Chelsea. The penalty? Fine. I think it was a pen but there's clearly an argument about that and I'll admit I'm biased. The offside goal was offside. There's no luck in that - either our defence stepped up brilliantly and held their line or their attacker moved at the wrong time and messed it up. He might as well have run through after the half time whistle and smashed it into the open net - it's not a goal.

I agree. Chelsea fans are going mad saying how lucky we were. We stuck to our game plan. Defended really well. Not sure if the Chelsea fans noticed but we actually scored another goal as well as the penalty. Cajuste bosses their midfield. Yes a very soft penalty but we won it 2-0.

We gave the ball away cheaply. Great finish by Dibling but ultimately the ball should have been comfortably cleared and the danger is gone. Was a sloppy error that led to them scoring a few seconds later.

We've played them all, who was the worst? on 13:30 - Jan 2 by stonojnr | Palace were bloody awful. I just remember that chance they had clean through, any other Prem team would have scored, game over, and they didnt even get a shot off, it went out for a throw in. its annoying we werent much better that game. |
Going forward yes but defensively one of the best imo. We didn't get a sniff
We've played them all, who was the worst? on 10:47 - Jan 3 with 837 views | BlueySwede | Judging solely on the performances against us I would say United, Wolves and Leicester. We should have won against United, they were there for the taking.

My thoughts on the penalty were its Jorgensens balls-up. Delap has rounded him, and Jorgensen has put out a leg to clip Delap on his way past. Whereas if he leaves it I don't think Delap catches up to the ball and it goes out of play. Definite penalty down to idiotic goalkeeping!

I'm annoyed we didn't beat Leicester & Man U. On balance I believe another 6 points from what we have now would be fair. Could haunt us in May.
