Some aide is reading out the order and then placing it in front of him and he signs it. He's just a puppet, only needed for his signature.

It's really depressing. I never thought Id see the day when the US started to be a copy of Russia and spread disinformation and take steps towards an autocratic state.
I have no idea how we deal with any of this.
Even Europe is fractured really with no true consensus. Major liberal democracies like Germany and France are a small vote away from a hard right government.

It's deeper than that. The recent Battleground podcast had a lengthy piece with US journalist Joe Lindsley who has been in Ukraine since the start of the war. He said MAGA have been sold three key lines of misinformation that are driving their opinion:
1) Victoria Nuland and USAID were responsible for the revolution in Ukraine. Musk repeats this myth on a regular basis. 2) The US public are fed up their intervention overseas. They see no difference between Ukraine and Iraq and Afghanistan. 3) Biden's policy was based on his son's relationship with Burisma (which was actually based in Moscow)
Surely the solution is European democratic nations club together and offer their support and negotiate with Ukraine and cut out Trump. This should be on all areas including trade, up our military support and shame Trump and the US into action or complete isolation.

Unless the U.S. is set to revert to its pre-WW1/2 isolationist policies I don't see how their foreign policy and priorities can work with Trump at the helm. Xi, Kim and the other dictators across the world must be rubbing their hands with glee.
Many news reports state that Trump wants out of Europe to focus on the Indo-Pacific. He forgets that Putin's biggest ally is Communist China, which is precisely the biggest threat to the Indo-Pacific region. And FYI both his best buddy Elon and Elon's mum Maye are pro-CCP. So how does he reconcile that.
