It's so blatantly obvious that Miller wouldn't be able to point to Norwich on a map nevermind know who the football team are. Someone on the PR crew just tells him to put it on for the theatre.
Wouldn't it just be so much more refreshing if these pre-fight conferences consisted of two well spoken gentlemen politely expressing how much they looked forward to the bout of competitive fisticuffs, which they hoped to win?

Didn't Clarke do the same?
Boxing just uses the same playbook repeatedly doesn't it?
Yes, building up every single fight as some sort of "grudge match" and also for some near meaningless belt & title, such as "interim champion of my own front room".
I'd be much more interested if there wasn't all this choreographed nonsense
Do you remember when it was Chisora v Haye (I think) and they were separated by a single bit of heras fencing for the press conference because they were sooo violent towards each other, which they both then just walked around afterwards

What even is an 'interim champion'?
It feels particularly spurious given that, in effect, all boxing champions are interim.

Some of the sanctioning bodies now have "interim champions" in cases where the belt holder is unable to defend his title owing to circumstances beyond his control e.g. injury, legal issues etc. There have even been instances where different WBA World Champions have defended versions of the same title, in the same weight class, on the same date, and even within the same event. All part of the nonsense whereby almost every boxing match has to be deemed as being for a "title".

So the winner of this fight becomes the 'champion' until such time as the current actual champion is able to fight again, at which point the 'champion' will fight the champion to see who actually gets to remain the champion?

Ooooooh no it isn't.....
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Like two five year olds fighting over the last sweet in the bag. I don’t want this sort of rubbish anywhere near our club.
This.
And, as someone else said, I hope the club are getting good money out of this. Otherwise the only time I'd ever personally want Wardley in the stadium again is as a fan. Boxing is a joke 'sport' for the most part now.

Anyone remember boxing when it was real ?
Eubanks , Benn , Calzaghe , Hatton , Froch
Games gone innit
The big difference is that all the meaningful fights have gone to PPV, which means that the boxers (& their agents) make more money, but they don't become well known to the public because only the fight fans stump up for PPV.
