I wonder what McKennas relegation release clause is 23:05 - Apr 9 with 9334 views | NeedhamChris | Given his agent was such a tough negotiator, can't imagine he's left a prized managerial asset locked in too tightly.

Maybe in addition to £4m or so. But who knows. He's worth more than Hobnobs though, a higher tier choice like a jammy dodger or custard cream.

I'm not convinced many Prem clubs will come calling. His big chance was last summer.

Nah, I think if anything is going to happen it will be sorted quickly, either way.

i'm more worried about him leaving in the autumn if we start well, could be a difficult time to recruit

Not sure why people think he will have bigger club offers with 1 home win all season. Equally from his view point if he manages another prem club that s established and takes them down that's him done at top level. Haven't we just built a training ground to his spec? If he jumps at first opportunity I'd be very disappointed especially given the season we've had.

I wonder what McKennas relegation release clause is on 13:47 - Apr 10 with 4443 views | darkhorse28 | It was a bizarre decision last summer. I get we wanted to see his ceiling, and keep him, which we all did. But a champions league contract, which had Brighton saying ‘for champions league money, we’ll get a proven elite manager, thanks’ was very poor. It’s like we bet the farm on staying up, in the context of spending £150 million and low relegation release for Delap (if true). I can’t imagine Brighton would need a relegation clause in his deal they offered, they’d sack him well before that point. So that’s the deal we blew out of the water; there’s probably little to no downside. Not in KM’s favour now though, he’s been so poor, he won’t be in demand at this level, and no EFL club can afford him, so he’ll either go abroad or stay on a new deal. We’re his best EFL option at least. Wouldn’t be shocked to see him go abroad, top tier mid-table side. He’s got SO much to learn.., and considering he spent so long at Man Utd will be a red flag for many.

It was a bizarre decision to keep the manager who had got us two promotions in two seasons as our best bet at trying to stay up? I think other clubs will look at the context of ITFC this season rather more than you have when assessing whether they still think McKenna is a good manager.

Don't agree with this at all. He's not been poor. Okay, he's fallen short of his target but he's had us competitive and easily the best of the promoted sides. A lot of bad luck too. We've played some really good football against top sides and should have beaten Villa, Fulham, United etc. I think his stock is still very, very high. I am just hoping we keep him. Feels like we will but you never know. If you're in the football industry, he's on your list.
