Who do you want (realistic names only) us to sign for next season then? 13:46 - Apr 22 with 11941 views | The_Romford_Blue | I hope and think (and actually I expect it happens) we get Flynn Downes back. I’d also quite like us to go after Ward Prowse. Think both are realistic and we have definitely been interested in them both in recent windows. Keeping Omari would feel like a big signing in itself. Who do we want in the door?

Good player but he's in the mould of all the other diminutive/ skilful/ clever forwards we have stockpiled over the past year. KMC has continually said how much we miss physicality of Burns/ Ogbene on the right so I'd presume if we were to recruit it would be in the same style.

Who do you want (realistic names only) us to sign for next season then? on 18:56 - Apr 22 with 2265 views | southnorfolkblue | Ben Doak on loan. Signing him on a permanent is probably unrealistic but he won't get near Liverpool's first team. We look light on attacker right sided players given that there must be real concerns about whether Wes and Cheo will fully recover from such major injuries

Who do you want (realistic names only) us to sign for next season then? on 18:22 - Apr 22 by portmanking | I don't think so, personally. The Blunts wanted £20m in Jan for him and they'll still want £15m+ this summer for sure. He's more likely to go to a newly promoted side IMO. That's before you consider Hamer is more of an 8 than a double pivot midfielder. He'd be in the same quandry as our Jack. |
Twice the player as Taylor though.

That may be the case, but he still would be a very strange fit for our system. He's not someone overly known for his positioning and savvy for the Luongo role and he's not defensively minded enough for the Morsy role. He'd be ideal to play as an advanced midfielder in a midfield 3 IMO.

I still have no clue what Jack Taylor is to be honest. I'd look to sell in the summer. Player swap could be a shout if it's the Championship we are shopping in.

Who do you want (realistic names only) us to sign for next season then? on 16:25 - Apr 22 by RIPbobby | I would be inclined to offer Tuanzabe a long contract, but loan him out to a prem team for next season. He is less effective in the championship last term as he is not so good going forward. We would perhaps have a fit again Clarke or Brandon at RB next term. I think Ogbene and Burns will be fine next season, if they regain fitness well. Deffo need two CM, although I still think Taylor is good enough for next season. Poor lad has never really been given a run of games. Yes we need another couple of strikers to cover Hirst. Mind you I assume that Ali will be back in the summer and he is fine at championship level. I think we will keep Hutchinson and perhaps he will find the #10 role a bit easier next season at that level. I have always preferred him on the wing dribbling at low block defences. Broady, billie jean and SS will have stellar seasons. The important player we need to keep is O'Shea. He has been excellent. He will push Delap close for player of the season. Greaves looked good again against Arsenal and Woolfy will be fine in the champ. Looking forward to this rebuild. [Post edited 22 Apr 16:41]

Giving Axel a long term contract and then loaning him to a Prem side is a mental suggestion. By all means give him a long term deal, he's our best defender by a country mile, but why on earth would you loan him out? It's not even closing time yet so I'm guessing you started early. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Who do you want (realistic names only) us to sign for next season then? on 14:48 - Apr 22 by Blooos | We need some physicality.. we could field a 3 of Philogene, Omari, Clarke behind a striker which on paper for the champ sounds brilliant, but its way too lightweight. The majority of the players who have been good at champ level and excelled in the Prem have been strong, athletic builds, Delap, Watkins, Rodgers, Semenyo etc. We need some muscle. |
If that 3 would be brilliant in the champ on paper as you say what do we care if they’re not the correct build to excel in the prem? You do realise we’ll be in the championship next season right?

Agreed, he doesn’t fit our system at all and for a large chunk of our championship outlay has been largely disappointing. Seems to be a player who can do well in a midfield three, McKenna obviously saw something he could work with but to me he’s not strong enough or good enough to play on the ball in a midfield two and not creative enough to play consistently behind the striker.

Who do you want (realistic names only) us to sign for next season then? on 22:53 - Apr 22 with 1830 views | ipswichtillidie | We need a ball winning midfielder who we can develop. Cajuste isn’t that player but would be a revelation with someone of this Ilk. Striker position I expect as mentioned us to go for a Kone type tbh. We don’t need anyone else dependent on who is sold imo. Suspect we will bring back Cam and Ali to fill squad positions. Possibly a centre half if Burge departs because we have struggled at LCB for me.

Clearly wages would be a real challenge but think we may need to push the boat out on someone in CM that could really be the difference unless by some miracle Cajuste stays.

Pretty sure I remember us trying to go for him at the start of our championship season before so Mckenna is clearly a fan. Then when the saints came to PR for 'that night' I remember him and Downes being their standout players... Would happily take both!

Who do you want (realistic names only) us to sign for next season then? on 15:11 - Apr 22 by Chris_ITFC | “… if he can keep himself on the straight and narrow.” He’s as spotty a leopard as I’ve ever seen. There’s no way McKenna will go back to him. |
People are talking about "second chances", but we were his second chance; from the recent interviews, it's clear the club knew about his off-field issues prior to signing, and McKenna tried to give the lad a break by getting him away from Manchester. Our recruitment has been based upon bringing in "good characters" as well as good players - he was given a sympathetic opportunity to prove he could be both by McKenna, and unfortunately that didn't work out. I have sympathy for BW and hope he can rebuild his career, but can't see us taking a risk on him again.

I think he'd be suited the the Left sided role perfectly, but that's not a position we need!

Sorry I didnt specifically mean about them not excelling in the Prem.. I mean as names individually on paper it looks great for the Championship. However all 3 together are too lightweight, you need 1 of the 3 with some physical presence.. Take last time in the Champ, Burns / Chappers / Broady had much more of a physical presence than Clarke / Omari / Jaden would.

I’d rather we sold Leif than Omari tbh. For outgoings…. Delap - 30m Leif - 15m Muric - 3m (Robbery) Harness - 500k That would get us close to 50m incoming

Sellons will likely reduce that a fair bit when you take Delap and Davis into account.
