So, season tickets up 10% on 13:17 - Apr 24 by textbackup | The years of service they have put into following us. It’s a reward. It’s respect. I’m not anywhere near the 65 bracket yet, but if the club were to ditch it in the coming years that would put me off going. |
If that’s the reason, shouldn’t concessions instead be based on the number of years you’ve had a season ticket?
So, season tickets up 10% on 13:23 - Apr 24 with 1158 views | WestSussexBlue | I’m sure there will be a handful that disagree and say because of relegation it shouldn’t happen, however the club is on the up, there is a lot of work to be done to return the club to where we believe it should be. It needs continued support and investment and I’m sure the majority of us are on board.

So, season tickets up 10% on 13:21 - Apr 24 by Churchman | Pensioners are already being attacked and vilified by the government. Don’t encourage the club to join in! Over 65s deserve it. Through hard work over decades they’ve put in to this country and propped up layabout scroungers like you in a lavish lifestyle on benefits. Enjoyed that. Seriously, I’ve actually no idea. As I’ve said many times, I’d make sure children got in for next to nothing and spare tickets went to genuinely disadvantaged people through Community Trust etc. that’d be about it. So, season tickets up 10% on 13:13 - Apr 24 by Blueschev | I don't mean to be controversial, but I would bet that over 65's that are season ticket holders will be on average the most affluent demographic that attend matches, what justifies their discount? |
The state pension is £11,975 per annum, why do you think they are the most affluent? It is a wild assumption that pensioners have other income to supplement this, at the moment some may have defined benefit pensions but that number will decrease over time as these become much less with few if any employers offering these now.

So, season tickets up 10% on 13:33 - Apr 24 with 1048 views | football | No issue with this as there are more games so actually works out less per game than this season. Costs the club more to host more games so it's right they are increased. When compared to other clubs good value and we over the DD scheme that most do not operate which makes it affordable to many. I think I saw a post a while ago where a ST at Braintree is more than I currently pay in West stand | | | | Login to get fewer ads

If your only income is the state pension you won't be able to afford a season ticket, discount or not. It's a luxury item, many people my age who have had children have had to sacrifice their season ticket as a result. Why is there not a 'two kids and 25 years on my mortgage' discount? Or a 'paying extortionate rent to a landlord over 60' discount?

So, season tickets up 10% on 13:12 - Apr 24 by Churchman | Same for me. Sitting in the West Stand stalls, it’s just under £13 a game. The price of a couple of beers in London. Dirt cheap. I’ll cope with the extra two or three quid a month. I did an NFL game this year and it was well over £100 to see two poor teams mess about. I don’t think the pricing is too bad for professional sport or entertainment in general and I’m really pleased they kept the cost for kids down. They’re the future. Unlike things like utility bills that have gone through the roof, it’s not compulsory to go. Given the levels of unhappiness on here I might get the opportunity to move my seat to a better one which is good and hopefully people who couldn’t get to see the team this year will be able to. |
But you do obviously have to pay the extra premium to have a seat in a block relatively near to me, so that needs to be taken into the mathematics when working out the value.

The club presumably makes a profit to put on a match. So I'd imagine the 25k+ tickets they sell for each of those 4 extra games will more than cover the costs to host them. Plus they will also be selling away tickets at a much higher rate than the current £30 cap.
So, season tickets up 10% on 13:49 - Apr 24 with 910 views | N2_Blue | Considering demand, the increased games, the spend of the club over last 24 months , the price comparison with other clubs, our Season ticket is still brilliant value. Expected a rise of this amount. It’s the prefect time to do it with the demand and the club has to look after itself. For those moaning, look at how much we were paying for a ST 10 years ago in the champ. Our team is a million times better and how much have things gone up since then. Sure feel for people who’s finances are stretched but those making comments like ‘disgraceful’ etc aren’t in the real world. Take my money ITFC and roll on August. I love the champ especially when competitive.

So, season tickets up 10% on 14:02 - Apr 24 with 798 views | HighgateBlue | The demand is there in spades. I am not suggesting that the Club should maximise prices to the very maximum they can get away with. However, there are plenty of people missing out on a season ticket who would like one. Some of those people have found it difficult to get tickets of any kind this year, and may well struggle next year, especially if we keep KMac and perform well. Given that there are proper fans who would happily pay double what an ST currently costs, just to ensure they get to see Town play, I really don't think these rises are unacceptable. And if it makes the difference between being able to afford one quality signing within PSR limits, whom we otherwise might not have been able to afford, it's more than acceptable. A balance between maximising income and looking after genuine fans is what's called for, and I think they've got it about right. As others have said, also bear in mind it's 23 home league games rather than 19 in the Championship, an increase of 21%.
