What about a Town bid for Carlton Morris.

Poll: Should we retire our No.9 shirt for one season after losing Paul Mariner RIP?

Only if he's happy being a 3rd choice striker.......

Surely our bar is a little higher?

We didn’t do very well recruiting from relegated prem clubs. What makes you think signing relegated championship players will work out any better?

Doesn't excite me but does make quite a bit of sense if it's a much reduced fee. if you could get him £3m it's a good buy but I wouldn't be paying what I expect they will want. Think we will need to Strikers and if he was one of them then that's ok.

Annoying. A convenient local away game for next season gone.

It really doesn’t. He’s so immobile and actually not that good!

It’s a shame for Matt Bloomfield. I thought they were going to make a great escape as they’ve really turned things around lately. They’d be safe if Portsmouth weren’t useless enough to not beat a really poor Hull side.

League 1 is about his level. Terrible shout for a signing. The lad Alli looks far better if you're wanting a player from Luton.

Who's the other striker they have, he's the more mobile of
the two?

I think Morris is alright if you whip a lot of balls into the box and pin sides back but not a workhorse like Hirst

He's ex-Norwich, so would inevitably be a flop.

Think it would be fair to say he was a flop at Norwich. He spent the first 7 years of his senior career on their books and only played once.

On the subject of strikers what we really need is one who has solid defensive qualities, corners, free kicks etc.

We could have done with Kieffer Moore this season.

I’d have been up for signing him in January but he’s had a really poor second half of the season. Normally you could look past that as a temporary dip but for a 29 year old that has played in really intense systems for most of his career, there’s quite a good chance his legs have gone.

Doesn’t fit the profile and has been poor for ages.

Would think Kone, Ivanovic or Salech are far better options

I thought Osho had been loaned to Auxerre, but he was released then signed a year contract with an option.

If we needed a defender he'd be worth a look, if he wants to come back to England.

Lamine Fanne is a young midfielder they loaned back to Sweden and he's been in the team. He might be a cheap development punt. Chong has had his injuries but has the Man United link but I've no idea if we need him or he's at the level either.

Apart from that, I can't see much in their squad we'd want. Woodrow as an experienced 3rd choice?

I second this view.

He's a big lump that might be handy if we want to play a REALLY direct game. No where near mobile enough for the game we play.

He didn't seem the most mobile but has a decent left foot on him, McKenna presumably wants running ability

I assume he is a better defender than Leif?

A bit harsh on the bloke. But no, I wouldn’t sign him.

Having watched Luton a couple of times in the last week or two, I wouldn’t be looking to sign any of their players. Despite a good effort to dig themselves out at the end of the season, they looked weak collectively and individually.

We went into a PL season with our 3rd choice striker as AAH, so when you hope our bar is higher, I certainly agree… but then struggle to see beyond that monumental fck up of a decision this season.
