We have very very ambitious owners. Cajuste if we can get him is exactly the sort of signing we need if we hope to get back up and stay up. Has shown he is premier league level player. I expect if KM says 'we must get him' they will do all they can to.
I think Jens will stay on 20:44 - May 25 with 1805 views | nrb1985 | Depends on who comes in for him would be my bet. There is a world cup next year so doubt he's going to want to play in the EFL if he doesn't have to.
I think Jens will stay on 20:46 - May 25 with 1767 views | WickhamsLeftBoot | Him and one/two other CM’s should be the priority. Reckon there will be quite a few exits this summer. Can’t see Harness or AAH getting anywhere near the first team, does Elkan go out on loan again? Humphreys possible loan in the Championship? Harry Clarke another loan? Didn’t KM allude to conversations with targets have already started?

While he may want to play at a higher level a high proportion of the Swedish squad play in teams outside of the Big 5 leagues so not sure the World Cup will be the biggest consideration here.

Probably not possible but getting someone through the door as early as this week would be a nice boost after the struggles of 24/25.

Wasn't the obligation to buy £12mil. It's not crazy money. I would imagine we could negotiate now we have haven't gone up. I think the harder thing is getting Cajuste to join. Would like to have him but would really need to make sure we 100% understand the knee issue and whether it is likely to improve. Managing him in the champ Sat/Tuesday is a big problem. Fully fit and no knee issue he'd be amazing. knee issues rarely completely go away when they have been chronic like this season.

I think Jens will stay on 21:05 - May 25 with 1518 views | SomethingBlue | I’d probably do the deal if it was on for us but on two conditions: (1) can he do enough of a 46-game season and (2) can we nonetheless strengthen the midfield, and get its balance right, with the addition of a really tough competitor who has a sharp defensive conscience. They’re big questions. On form I really like him but I need convincing that he’s totally right for us in the future.

£10M (€12M) I’ve seen recent reports that although the obligation isn’t triggered, that we still have the option. Not sure that is accurate though. Affording the £10M shouldn’t be an issue.

It will be a similar situation to Sixto I would imagine. Love to keep him, but won't be able to.

Sixto couldn’t happen because we were in financial distress and couldn’t fund it. Most reports about that time suggested he’d have stayed otherwise.

Injury prone player for that kind of money in the championship? Flatters to deceive as far as I’m concerned. Our midfield has been desperately poor and he’s been part of that. How is he going to stand up to a 46 game ham and egg league? I really don’t see it and for that kind of money, if we have it to spend, on robustness alone I’d look elsewhere.
I think Jens will stay on 21:25 - May 25 with 1222 views | Nthsuffolkblue | I think the deal was that we signed him if we stayed up so if we decide he is value at that agreed price and we are selling Delap and maybe another, I wouldn't be surprised if we still offer that deal. It is then whether he is OK with the wages on offer and playing in the Championship. As for why he played, Luongo won't be here next season either so was there another option really? EDIT: I guess Jack Taylor could have started. [Post edited 25 May 21:50]

I would have thought this clause is something we insisted on, not Napoli, i.e. it makes no difference to them whether we stay up or not, they are willing to sell for £10m, the clause was to protect us if we didn't want him in the Championship. So I think it could be on the cards.

It has the whiff of a Bullard loan to permanent situation. Cajuste is clearly a true professional, but the romance element of the story feels familiar for a player with a not significant injury record

Would be brilliant if the bulk of our recruitment can be finalised before the squad heads out to Austria, gives time to build partnerships.

Unfortunately deals always seem to end up happening late in the window. It would be good if they were done early, though.

He can't play the Luongo role. He's proven that over the course of this season. So, unless he's being primed to replace Morsy, I don't see what piece of the jigsaw he is for this team - as nice as he is to watch on the half-turn!

I thought he did ok today. I think his style makes him look almost lazy and disinterested (reminds me of Jason Dozzell) [Post edited 25 May 23:20]

I think Jens will stay on 02:28 - May 26 with 111 views | The_Romford_Blue | Would be the best signing a championship team has made ever id argue. A proven premier league midfielder who only 5 months ago was described by the London radio doing the spurs away game as ‘Ipswich appear to have found themselves the next 100m player’. Ok he’s not quite THAT level but he’d certainly be the best player in the league in the Championship by an absolute mile
