England to win the world cup next year
or
Ipswich to bounce back to the prem?

Both, they aren't mutually exclusive.

Its always Ipswich first for me, but it's not saying I wouldnt love England to win something in my life time.

Outside of the actual tournaments I find England absolutely tedious (last two games a great example).

With the turgid style of football and the increasing rapid decline of this country I just can't find myself being bothered if England win or lose. I'd take Ipswich winning our first game of the season over England winning something. Luckily though it's a hypothetical question though so maybe both might happen. No doubt some down votes but that's just how I feel.

Ipswich 100%

I don't even know when England are playing half the time (didn't know about last night's game). There's only so many times you can be let down before you go past caring.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Ipswich every time, means so much more having successful ipswich team than England team.

I will qualify this a little more by having Ipswich promoted the season after for a variety of reasons but frankly for England and it’s footballing strength to have not won anything for 60 years is a monkey we need off our backs …. It’s embarrassing.

I know that it’s fashionable to say that they don’t know when England are playing - but over the years, ipswich have probably been far more disappointing than England.

Not sure what you mean by rapid decline of the country?

Anyway, tough call for me. Imagine the scenes if England won a world cup. It would be unreal! Whereas i've seen town win promotion from various leagues 4 times now and as amazing as that is, I honestly can't find myself getting too excited about another season in the EPL

Strewth the decline is visible all around us.....dirty, huge prices, no manners, crime, entitlement, disrespect everywhere I turn. Maybe you don't notice it.....I wish I didn't.

Likewise not sure I'd get overly excited about being promoted again either but I'd always say Ipswich over England.

Ipswich every day.
While its nice to see England do well, it really doesn't bother me to much what they do.

Really not that bothered about England. Of course I'll support them, but it's Ipswich every single time. No question.

Personally think a lot of the things you've mentioned are more a symptom of 24hrs news, social media, sensationalism etc. I don't actually think there's more crime, less manners and disrespect etc and certainly not a rapid increase in these things. Every generation thinks that of the next generation coming through

Anyway, I don't want to make this a political thread, but was just interested in what you meant. Maybe if Tuchel was able to get England playing some exciting football and winning games comfortably people might feel a bit more excited by our national team. Doesn't look likely at the mo though!

I'm not saying that to be 'in fashion', I genuinely didn't know last night, and often don't know. And Ipswich have given me far more joy over my lifetime than England ever have.

Depends on what criteria you judge "disappointing". Ipswich have won stuff in that time, England haven't.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

That's enough about Ipswich town centre, what about England?

I would take 1 win vs Norwich over a world cup win.

Ipswich. Always.

I didn't know we were playing last night or Saturday, I will watch England in a tournament but have very little connection or interest in the national team. That being said I don't watch a lot of football full stop that doesn't involve Town

Would you rather Ipswich beat Norwich in a Championship play-off final next season or England win the World ...

No point finishing the question ... it's a no brainer.

We had the best part of 20 years of utter sht as Town fans. 46 games a season.

Englands failures tend to come in a 4/5/6 game tournament every 2 years.

ITFC have failed far more then England

However, I’d pick ITFC every time. I used to think I’d pick England for a national party/celebration. But as I don’t really like anyone but Suffolk folk, the rest of the country can fist itself.

We’ll be good again... one day

Let me reword the question.

Are you more proud of an Ipswich, or England, performance?

Would love to see us win World Cup agsin but I get more satisfaction from a good Ipswich performance / result.

Yeah fair points and often I wish I was able to just bypass the negative stories. You could be right. I'm lucky to have travelled a lot and do not see in many places what I see here, however like you say maybe this country has always been inferior in those things but social media hasn't always bought it to my attention.
