So according to Stuart Watson 16:32 - Jul 13 with 5741 views | ITFCMonk | We have access ‘again’ to Brightons recruitment system this season. Whilst good to have the access, surely it’s not ideal if we lose it again if promoted? What kinds of alternatives do we have in place? Just makes you wonder

So according to Stuart Watson on 16:37 - Jul 13 with 5386 views | SheffordBlue | We've started building our own capability. Some of this has been in the wings for a while under Gamechanger Data but I think it's now Paradigm Sports Intelligence. Jason Lines has been consulting with the club for a few years but I think is now here full time and recently they were advertising for a couple of hires. https://gb.bebee.com/jobs?term=Paradigm+Sports+Intelligence&location=&ge

So according to Stuart Watson on 16:38 - Jul 13 with 5353 views | Nutkins_Return | I believe we are building are own in parallel but it would take time. It's interesting if we are using it because I'm sure I read before they only.licence it to 1-2 teams in a division (I would think maybe more but they don't just give it to everyone). So not sure if another promoted club was using it so a slot became free.

Indeed. If you make back 10 million+ by selling them on, then 20k is not that much.

If we’ve got access now, we just need to draw up a shortlist of PL targets alongside looking for players for this year, Shirley?

I imagine that our access probably excludes the type of players that they will target

Indeed, the idea longer term is to sell our data system to clubs in the way Brighton do. From what I gather, they allow one club in each division to use their system.

Ah I may have read that from you then Phil :). I'd actually be amazed if that was true though as that removes a huge revenue stream. And the way to get more using it is the fear of missing out. I could understand restricting it to say 10. Otherwise we are very lucky to be the ones to get it back. It does seem a really hard thing stop us just stealing the data. Unless you pay per profile you unlock based on a search or something. Be curious to see how it works.

I don't know about last year (maybe one of the promoted sides!) but I don't think it's a secret that we were given access again once we went down.

Any chance getting halo on board with all their global superstar IT engineers will help accelerate this? Certainly have the experience to build software capable of documenting a large player base.can imagine if they can integrate other systems already in existence there are more benefits to the partnership than meet the eye

I've got a tape to tape machine AND it has a "Hi Speed Dubbing" function. I can do it after I've finished copying "The Hobbit" by Melbourne House for the ZX Spectrum. Well, I'm really copying "Samantha Fox Strip Poker" but I'll write "The Hobbit" on the cassette label in case my Mum sees it.

Building the database would be not even 1% of the effort. I daresay the Halo products already would be able to do it with a tiny bit of configuration. Maybe they could just buy a copy of Football Manager

If 10 teams all used the same system, they would all be trying to buy the same player/s. It probably needs to be more exclusive to gain buy into pay for the system. If Brighton give the system to 10 clubs in the Championship, it wouldn’t have the unique factor, and diminish its worth, in my opinion.
