Offer in for Jens Cajuste on 08:41 - Aug 1 by Pinewoodblue | Looks like Hackney may have manoeuvred himself into a corner. Boro saying he has to choose between them and Town suggests they don’t envisage any Premier League offers. Now he knows we have a potential alternative. Surely the timing is not a coincidence with him presumably currently in Ipswich. |
It’s not Hackney or Cajuste. It’s both. The Hackney budget goes on another CM if he doesn’t come.

I mean, there *is* a world where Ashton's thought "fck it, let's leak a Cajuste 'deal' to the press to play Hackney's agent at his own game". However, given that I was told we'd try and recruit "like a PL club" despite relegation, I have no doubt we're trying to sign both. Whether we do or not is anyone's guess. But McKenna's the coach everyone wants to play for...

Do they? They haven't exactly been battering down our door have they! We're defo aiming high, and for that reason I have to tell myself not to get too excited by these sorts of rumours. Just have to wait and see.

10am? Where's the dedication in that? He just does not care. We now need someone who is 100% into the club and will be about 24/7 to check and break the latest stories. Excuses like "needing sleep" simply don't cut it anymore.

Called into an early morning press briefing at the club prior to announcement of a double signing.

Offer in for Jens Cajuste on 09:19 - Aug 1 with 1726 views | homer_123 | Without wanting to p*ss on our own parade, the tweet seems a re-hash of the offer from 3 weeks ago - that was widely reported. From various sources: "Now, in the last few hours, Ipswich have tried again with a new approach to sign the 25-year-old, despite their relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2024-25 season. " I hope I'm wrong of course. [Post edited 1 Aug 9:21]

It could be a change in the terms perhaps. Mandatory purchase upon promotion over optional etc.

Again, without wanting to be negative, I understood that terms with Napoli were not the issue.

Offer in for Jens Cajuste on 07:55 - Aug 1 by le2blue | And he's now unfollowed Burnley on Insta, clearly didn't like what he saw. |
If the Burnley move is off for whatever reason and there is no other Prem interest then surely we are his best move now? Saudi or Turkey isn't the move for an ambitious 25 year old. Doesn't put him in the shop window for the Sweden WC squad any more than a move to the Championship. And if all goes to plan he would be a PL player in 12 months time.

So are the "last few hours" a rehash of an old article, or do they mean within the last day? As others said, this could be Town playing Hackney/his agent at their own game.

Ah I see. Silly question. If you want to have a 2nd round if talks with a player. Do you need to put in another offer to the club first? At non league you get 14 days after a 7 day approach and then have to wait a month before being able to do it again. Obviously slight different level lol.

We had 5 central midfielders last season and we have 8 more league games this season.

To be fair, I'm not saying this is the case - but if the offer to Napoli has switched from an optional clause to a mandatory one, that does change the offer for Jens because it offers him longer term stability if he knows he'd be staying beyond the loan period
