They wonder why they get arrested? on 13:52 - Aug 11 by bluelagos
Aside from the the fact they wouldn't be chucked on the floor, arrested or given a 3 year banning order your tweet is 100% spot on Sitters.
I know a former friend of this board who is facing just that for using a bar shutter as a percussion instrument whilst singing "We've got Super Kieran McKenna".

Anyone seeing the irony here? A protestor being very annoying, but fairly harmless with her spoon and lid vs the caption "I would f@ckin deck that....". Who's the agressor here?
Oh for the good old days of petrol bombs, barricades and heaving half bricks at the police. End this annoying saucepan banging now.

Worth posting what I posted on the other recent thread, which didn't get any response.
"A rather alarming number of apologists on this thread for what is draconian legislation.
But don't take my word for it, just look at what the UN Human Rights organisation says about it, which reflects my comment about the inappropriateness of shoe-horning Palestine Action into the Terrorism Act.
"UK domestic counter-terrorism legislation defines terrorist acts broadly to include ‘serious damage to property’. But, according to international standards, terrorist acts should be confined to criminal acts intended to cause death or serious injury or to the taking of hostages, for purpose of intimidating a population or to compel a government to take a certain action or not,” said Türk. “It misuses the gravity and impact of terrorism to expand it beyond those clear boundaries, to encompass further conduct that is already criminal under the law.”
“The decision appears disproportionate and unnecessary. It limits the rights of many people involved with and supportive of Palestine Action who have not themselves engaged in any underlying criminal activity but rather exercised their rights to freedom of expression, peaceful assembly and association,” the High Commissioner said. “As such, it appears to constitute an impermissible restriction on those rights that is at odds with the UK’s obligations under international human rights law.”
“The decision also conflates protected expression and other conduct with acts of terrorism and so could readily lead to further chilling effect on the lawful exercise of these rights by many people,”
Sadly though, a lot of people in this country don't seem to care about human rights but therein lies a slippery slope where we end up mirroring Russia and Belarus as the only countries in Europe not to be members of the ECHR. And it is good that there are some very brave people prepared to take a stance on this, and sad for me that Labour with a human rights lawyer as leader is going down this route.

I think the world knows who the terrorist organisation is.

This.
You honestly think it's a good use of police resources to arrest 500 odd people for holding up cardboard signs? Blueas wasn't being serious, alarmingly I think you might be.

benty always takes fooker's "jokes" seriously. it'd be quite sweet, if it didn't seem so exploitative!
