I think you're underselling Humphreys there. If we'd signed a promising young player who had just excelled with a League One play-off team (player of the year, young player of the year), I think everybody would be more excited. On top of which, he is home-grown, knows the club and even has a few Champ appearances under his belt. |  |

I know a few here really like Broady (me included) but if we get anywhere near £10m, even the £7m originally reported, that's blooming good business.
In all honesty, i'd prefer we sold Clarke for £10m and kept Broadhead, but, clearly McKenna and the staff are seeing something with JC worth persisting with and we have to trust that.

Not really. McKenna likes to have players who are comfortable in more than one position which Akpom can do. |
I think this idea of every outfield player having a fixed position (as opposed to broad specialisations in defence, midfield or attack) is outmoded. Playing structures are a lot more fluid nowadays, with individuals having a lot of licence to move around the pitch depending upon circumstances (e.g. Chaplin, playing a notional No.10, often appearing in pretty much a right back position to collect and progress the ball).
Flexibility is a bonus during open play as much as in setting out the team. What we want is an attacking "pack", all of whom can feed each other and all of whom can score, without much regard for who is supposed to be standing exactly where according to rigid formation concepts. | |

The £10m figure quoted will include add-ons if Wrexham get promoted to the Premier League etc. The real figure will be more like £7m, but still a good bit of business for all parties. Broadhead needs to be playing regularly at this stage of his career. |  |

Last time in the Championship, we got Travis in January, because we didn’t have anyone to cover for Morsy. Think the same applies at the moment, Cajuste and Taylor compete for the old Luongo role. |  | | |
