| Norwich fans abusing wives and young kids yesterday 09:38 - Nov 2 with 3772 views | Mullet | This isn’t a dig, because I think we’d have similar scumbags in our ranks based on previous, but it does make me wonder where some peoples’ lines are. This is a horrible read and seems to be true based on the responses. Baffling to think that as much as we all love the game, our club etc people still think this stuff is ok. | |

| Norwich fans abusing wives and young kids yesterday on 09:53 - Nov 2 with 3346 views | ArnoldMoorhen | It's the Club Chaplain, calling for calm, so highly unlikely that he is exaggerating or lying as that would just create another round of arguments and distrust. He has absolutely done the right thing by speaking out and drawing attention to this. It is just a game. I always hate the "Sacked in the morning" chant. If we are winning, sing about that, not a whole load of people from the opposition coaching staff losing their jobs and their kids having to move house and find new schools etc. | | | |

It's deeply disturbing It also could have a massive effect on said players and what passion they then give the club if the fans actions cause pain for their families. Change the manger fine. But maybe they've just pssed off a load of players who you really need to play for the badge. Seeing with non town eyes on it.. as a neutral I see it as a really stupid act for several reasons. Apparently it was the parents fault [Post edited 2 Nov 10:02]

| Norwich fans abusing wives and young kids yesterday on 10:05 - Nov 2 with 3187 views | Churchman | That’s awful. Yes all clubs have their share of scum, including ours, obviously. Sadly I’m sure they’re proud of it too. It’s football. Sport. A day out with your mates. An escape. An interest and a passion. It’s not life, war, poverty and death. It’s purely sporting important, but no more than that. Go nuts for your team, triumph despair and rage? Of course and more besides. But it stays within boundaries. Abusing players as our lot now do and everyone in sight as their lot are currently doing crosses the line. I suspect it’s a national problem. A society problem. A society that is breaking down and sees no rules but personal entitlement. The Norwich poster is right. There is a line you don’t cross. Some of their finest crossed it and went to the next farmyard from reading that. It’s sad and referring to your last line, not OK. | | | |

Apparently we are on the lookout for a High Priest and unfortunately Conor doesn’t fit the bill.

It all seems particularly cruel, given what Liam Manning and wife have been through.

Yeah most responses I read denied it saying it's all a lie. It's a bad look either way, the chaplain lying, or the fans lying that it happened. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Norwich fans abusing wives and young kids yesterday on 11:49 - Nov 2 with 2319 views | The_Major | There was a lot of anger directed towards Manning as well for disappearing down the tunnel at he end of the match and not acknowledging the crowd with the players Bearing in mind it was well documented that he had suffered with poor mental health following the death of his newborn son only last year, I don't think he should have been castigated for that. What good would it have done? Standing in front of a Barclay End that is hurling dogs abuse for five minutes whilst feeling bemused about how it can be turned around, or indeed if he'll still have a job next week. He sounded utterly broken in the post match interview. I know we all had a chortle and guffaw yesterday, but the situation up there is hardly equivalent to that with Chansiri at Wednesday, or what Morecambe went through recently - I'm pretty confident in saying they'll still exist this time next year, when there was genuine concern the other two wouldn't. Not denying they've got big problems, but in fact I'd argue they were in a bigger mess 30 years ago during the Robert Chase era. At the moment they're us at the start of 2018/19. Badly run, several players who couldn't care less, heading for relegation, a new manager with high hopes that is failing spectacularly. It's only a minority that are taking it to extremes. As others have said, we've got our own idiots that will only be too happy to hurl abuse at Egeli for example, if he fails to catch an overshot pass. The vast majority of those Norwich fans would have trudged unhappily up Prince of Wales Road wondering why their team have turned into Barnstoneworth United. Won't deny it probably hurts, but that majority have probably all got more important things to worry about. No matter what Bill Shankly said back in the day, football is not more important than life and death. | | | |

It clearly happened. There is enough video footage of them calling Knapper a c*** when what they actually mean is that he is someone who they feel is not doing their job very well. Modern life innit. Disproportionate anger and entitlement everywhere you look.

Forgetting he's managing Norwich for a second, but i actually feel sorry for him some of that defending 2nd half based on replays is incredibly non league as he kinda points out in his interview. There's no way you coach that rubbish midweek, that is on the players

The abuse to Knapper, the board, manning etc is not being questioned it was the abuse directed at players family and fiends coming out of the ground that the chaplain was highlighting and I don't think there is evidence either way if that happened or not.

Apart from the statement by a witness……there is no evidence.

That would be good advice if it was Fenerbahce or Napoli...but Norwich? Come on. Pathetic behaviour from them.

This. The day that families feel unsafe in a stadium, which caters for young children as well as adults, is a sad indictment on a small but unpleasant group of supporters who lack the presence of mind, or willpower when it comes to drinking prior and during a game, to be able to treat women and children with respect. Anyone who defends these odious individuals needs to take a long, hard look at themselves.
