None of this is on Phil. Phil's job, as it always is, is to report what comes out of the club.

Yes, the club did most likely know and I’m not disputing that.

What I am disputing is that the club has invited him on this tour and associating the brand of ITFC and Reform in a collaborative way for mutual benefit.

In sure if Zach Polanski and the Green Party came along and booked a private tour and made similar posts and videos, we would probably come to that reasonable conclusion

I don't think anyone has suggested he was invited.

But this isn't even a normal private tour. Someone has gone above and beyond.

By being duped by Farage or we've agreed to their demands. Either is poor.

My post on it on X appears to have got 4,100 likes too, so now I have all Farage's army after me for being woke, gay, a nonce etc...

So it’s not true he paid £1k out of the Audi fund for a meet and greet and signed Reform football shirt then?

It would be interesting to see what or if anyone has gone over and beyond.

I remember doing it when I was a youngster and I got to see the board of all the international players, go in the dressing room, the media room (sitting in the chair) and going on the side of the pitch.

I do not think the club has printed his name on the shirt and given it to him for free. That would be a mistake if that is true and I would agree is a ridiculous but I don’t think that’s the case. By the looks of the video, they have altered the name in the dressing room to make it look like that. I would reckon they have pre bought a shirt with his name on it and have used it on the tour picture he has posted about.

Please will you listen to people who who actually make films, who understand editing, depth of field, camera work, grading etc when they tell you this was not shot on a mobile phone on the sly. The point of discussing things in public like this on not to shout ignorance louder and louder but to know what you have expertise in and to recognise others' areas of knowledge.

watch it again and put your agenda away.

edit: when shown the video and asked how the video was shot, ai answers:

"The video was likely shot on a modern iPhone due to high dynamic range, sharp focus, and stabilization commonly used for political social media content. The visual style, including potential bokeh effects, aligns with high-end smartphone footage typically optimized for platforms like X."

no, but ai can be fun . it's pretty obvious in this case that the very short clips are well within the capacity of a modern iphone. it's then been competently edited. an "expert" would know that.

I love the club, it's important to me. But so is following the right values and standing up for those marginalised. Right now, I don't feel I will go again unless this complete horror show is addressed and the club makes amends

I'm pleased someone else feels this way because I think this has marred the run in for me and I felt a bit silly and like I could be overreacting. The only thing stopping me keeping my money in my pocket the rest of the season is I don't see why I should let this pillock take something I love away from me.

Surely this isn't about whether it's has or hasn't been shot on a phone, it's the fact it's been allowed to happen regardless of what camera is used!

This was done covertly! The club have 100% allowed Reform to shoot a promotional vid at Portman road, and that genuinely makes me feel sick

I make films from little social media shorts on a mobile right up to TV ads with million-pound-budget-crews all over the world. I can assure you what Farage has posted could've been shot on a phone.

the point is that the club allows people to take phones with them on the tours, and it encourages them to film themselves in the various places covered by the tour. if that's what farage did, just using an iphone, then he did nothing different from what all others on the tour do. no camera team or special equipment. having taken their money and let them take take the tour could the club really have taken their iphones away?

Think it's pretty clear now that club and Ashton knew this was happening. So they've also now lied to the fans.

Would imagine agreement was basically 'Dont tag official club on socials'.

Gone well seeing as it's now making national news https://www.lbc.co.uk/article/

What are you on about

Even the EADT report paraphrased says:
‘The club were not aware of any Reform involvement as the party booked a private tour online without use of Reform or Farage’s name.

The shirt was purchased rather than gifted as well. ‘

They put together 10 seconds clips into one big clip - I’m not sure the club could of done anything as it was too late - if you honestly believe the club and reform are collaborating then you’ve lost your mind. Anyone can use a camera on the your, it’s not as if it is banned so it probably wasn’t anything out of the usual for the people doing the tour for anyone to get there phone out.
