Me too I think Leicester might surprise a few to prove a point and salvage a smidgeon of pride

Matters to them now, they need to get out of Leicester to another Championship side. A couple will be hoping that us or Cov come in for them. Trust me, they'll play out of their skins Friday

A flagging HUll are the only team in the top half they have beaten recently so I suspect a draw there is the biggest dangger for us.

| Assuming we don’t win at southampton on 22:09 - Apr 22 by GlasgowBlue | We will need to play better than we did tonight to beat West Brom. If Leicester can remember that they were a Premier League team last season and beat Millwall on Friday night then we only need three points in the final three games. |
Not necessarily. Southampton could do us on GD.
| Assuming we don’t win at southampton on 11:45 - Apr 23 with 475 views | SomethingBlue | We can win at St Mary's – I mean who knows at this point, really, but at the moment I'm minded to think Saturday will be tougher. | |

We might be cooked after playing West Brom. Then that extra game we've had to play going into the final game won't help us. I personally make Millwall favourites still.
| Assuming we don’t win at southampton on 12:48 - Apr 23 with 382 views | dirtyboy | I've had a chat with chat. I've punched in home table, away table, last 8 form table and explained what's at stake for each team. 📊 Probability (based on your data) Ipswich automatic: ~55% Millwall automatic: ~35% Southampton automatic: ~10% 🎯 The Decisive Factors 1. West Brom (A) — bigger than it looks 2nd best recent form Strong at home defensively 👉 If Ipswich don’t win this, pressure explodes 2. Southampton (A) — momentum vs control Form vs league position clash This is effectively a playoff final 3. Millwall — no pressure, perfect fixtures They’ll likely be sitting there on 85 pts Forcing Ipswich to hit a target 🧠 My Call (after seeing all your data) 👉 Ipswich scrape it 👉 But it goes to final day vs QPR needing a win …and if they don’t win at West Brom? 👉 I’d flip it to Millwall going up 55%!!! That's tossing a coin level. It's going to the last day. | | | |

| Assuming we don’t win at southampton on 22:04 - Apr 22 by woodbridge_blue | If Milwall draw at Leicester we will need a single point at West Brom or Southampton to take it to the last day where a win against QPR will do. |
If Millwall lose we can then lose both our next 2 games and beat QPR and barring an unlikely goal difference scenario we’d still be okay.

Of course at this stage it’s an unlikely scenario but this is actually why we need to at least get a point Saturday going into Tuesday. Want to have the 4 points going into that match. If we lost Saturday and they beat us, goal difference could end up being pretty even going into the last game for both sides on level points. That’s why they’re not a 100-1 shot and still like 18s at some places. A win of course would be much preferred! If we match or better Milwall’s result we will be so close.

It wouldn't be massively unlikely in that scenario. Even if we lost by 1 goal to WBA and 2 to Saints we're +27 and they're +26, probably with a higher 'goals for'. Hopefully it doesn't come to that though. Win Saturday and there's nothing Southampton can do in that game against them, or Millwall, to take it out of our hands.

Take a breathe and do the math, If we lost our next two and Southampton beat us the goal difference would be pretty damn close!

Yeah for sure. The other aspect to a win on Saturday is it would probably dampen Saints enthusiasm for Tuesday night. If us and Millwall both lose their tails are right back up and they'll probably fancy 2 wins to do it for them if they can stick a few past us and Preston.

Win Saturday and Southampton will go into full playoff mode. If we draw and Millwall win, it’s going to be potentially a worry thinking we might need to win at St Mary’s. The only way Southampton probably see a realistic chance of getting back into It is both of us losing, then they would be bang up for it thanks that damn 5 goal swing the night we had Pompey. If we don’t lose Saturday I think Southampton will consider themselves pretty much done with us playing QPR. Probably also the only very small slightly positive thing about a Wall win Friday as well, that would have Southampton thinking they’re probably done. Of course we are all Leicester fans though! It’s over analyzing (hopefully!). All up to us really! [Post edited 23 Apr 13:11]

The analysing of the permutations is part of the fun of this stage of the season IMO. This is why we both (IIRC) saw Boro at home as so vital to win off the back of the Pompey defeat though. Too late for what if's now but that would've made the world of difference. As you say when all is said and done, our task is clear, and that's to win on Saturday. Other results are just a bonus at that point. It would all but kill off Saints and send us there with the chance to confirm it, or at worst with the fall back of the final day. We've done well last night to tee it up, win Saturday and I can't see anyone stopping us.

It felt more vital because I didn’t have Southampton dropping points v Bristol so I think we would take most of what’s unfolded since the 85th minute Sunday. This league throws up things when you least it expect it though and who knows where we will be going into Tuesday!

| Assuming we don’t win at southampton on 14:48 - Apr 23 with 179 views | Broadbent23 | If Southampton fail to beat Man City then they will be demoralised. But if they win their confidence will be high but they will not pressure us so as to safeguard against injuries. As long as Town beat WBA then Southampton will be destiny day and our players will be really up for a win. | |

They love getting the ball wide and getting crosses in Big ar5e centre backs who imo will eat azon or hirst alive. Hoping leicester get a win so if we draw v brom it still leaves us in control.
