i'm beginning to think we might have to take what we can get this summer. If Azeez is two footed and determined to succeed then there's no reason why he can't replicate what Omari did.

No problem with Azeez but on the “take what we can get this summer”. Can you explain to me why?
-New state of the art training ground
-New scouting network to identify global talent
-Another instant 120-200M windfall
-Stable club/manager recently in the PL and financially heavily backed by our investors.
It’s obviously competitive but can you tell me why we should be just taking what we can get? If last time was taking what we can get from UK based contacts and EFL players this time should be different and we should be aiming extremely high.
If it fails badly the ownership need to look closely and the structures surrounding player acquisition. [Post edited 18 May 3:13]

I mean Bowen, Eze, Olise all played significant amount of minutes in the EFL. So there’s clear talent that comes through, at times elite talent, it just can’t surely be the entire strategy.
Do we think Azeez has the physical attributes and defensive abilities for the PL? That’s a side of his game I haven’t seen much of. |
Yeah the anti-Championship signing sentiment is nonsense.
I'm not saying we should sign exclusively from there? No... but Opta have the Championship as the 9th strongest league in the world. It is physical, fast and if you're already playing there then you've not got to adapt to a new country etc. after signing.
Ollie Watkins came from the Championship... Ivan Toney too.. James Maddison. The Championship is a great breeding ground for talent and plenty of alumni have gone on to be top players. Indeed, many of our fans would say our left wing is sorted with *checks notes* 2 players with Championship pedigree and not a lot else to date. | | | |

Worth noting that McAteer's contributions all came in the last 7 or 8 games at which point something seemed to have shifted for him and he finally found his feet. If he can continue to progress with us then he's a decent squad option, imo. |  |
